After all the disappointing romantic comedy films which have been out in the last few years, I really have a good feeling about this one after seeing the trailer a few times now. Kate Hudson really does have such a likeability factor and I am very much looking forward to seeing this film, how about everyone else?
Limitless (2011) Trailer
The more I watch Bradley Cooper the more I like him. This film looks like it has an interesting concept into taking a drug, it has to end badly. Looking forward to this one!
BAFTA 2011 – Nominations & Predictions
Here are the nominations for this years BAFTA awards with my views and predictions. I really have a feeling that The King’s Speech will sweep the awards! My favorite two films within the nominations have to be “Inception” and “Black Swan” both incredible thought-provoking films. So I shall be rooting for them. Excellent to see “Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” getting some recognition!

BEST FILM |
BLACK SWAN – Mike Medavoy, Brian Oliver, Scott Franklin
INCEPTION – Emma Thomas, Christopher Nolan
THE KING’S SPEECH – Iain Canning, Emile Sherman, Gareth Unwin
THE SOCIAL NETWORK – Scott Rudin, Dana Brunetti, Michael De Luca, Céan Chaffin
TRUE GRIT – Scott Rudin, Ethan Coen, Joel Coen
If “The King’s Speech” does not take this award, which I think it will do. I would love to see Inception get some recognition in awards terms as it really has been one of the most talked about films in recent times.
The Dilemma (2011) Review

Ronny (Vaughn) discovers that his best friend Nick’s (James) wife Geneva (Ryder) is having an affair, and faces the big dilemma of telling him, or more likely how and when to tell him. Especially when they are facing the task of securing a very important business deal!
Golden Globes 2011
I have grown to enjoy the Golden Globes over the past few years, possibly even more than Oscars. They seem to be more relaxed and fun. Everyone seems to have a good time. This year the big talking point fell around Ricky Gervais who was hosting, some of his jokes not going down very well with the audience. This then lead to him disappearing for more than an hour from the ceremony, leading to talk that he was stopped from coming on to deliver monologue.

So the talk surrounding the Globes is that Gervais will not be asked to host the show for the third time in a row. I personally found his jokes to be rather amusing and I am not usually a massive fan of his. But I guess for the American audience Gervais’ still was a bit extreme. Best moment had to be introducing Bruce Willis as Ashton Kutcher’s dad!

My favorite speech had to be from Robert De Niro when he picked up the Cecil B. DeMille Award (lifetime achievement). He managed to mix thanking people, talking about his career with a very heart warming feel and jokes put in to even it all out. He really is something else!
Colin Firth continued his collection of awards for his performance in “The King’s Speech” and looks almost certain to pick up the Oscar next month. His speech was also just fantastic, being very funny as well. It really is brilliant to see Colin getting the recognition that he so rightly deserves.

My favorite moment had to come from Michael Douglas appearing on stage to present the Best Film (Drama) award. He received a standing ovation from everyone in the room and responded with “there has to be an easier way to get a standing ovation”. It was brilliant to see him on a stage a few days after being given the all clear from his cancer battle. Definetly the most tear jerking moment in the whole ceremony. An icon to all!
The Winners are . . .
The Chaperone (2011) Poster
Whilst looking at some new movie poster that have been released this one for “The Chaperone” caught my eye. WWE wrestler Triple H being on it! I had never heard about this film before seeing the poster. Triple H was my favorite when I used to watch the wrestling. It looks as though they are trying to launch is film career more by giving him the classic kids film!

The Smurfs (2011) Poster
The first poster has been released for the new Smurfs film which is going to be coming out next year.

Legolas to return in The Hobbit?

Reports around the web today are stating that Orlando Bloom is set to return as Legolas the role which really got him noticed in The Hobbit. After the announcement of Cate Blanchett returning as Galadriel yesterday. Three more actors are in talks at reprising roles, Ian McKellen as Gandalf, Hugo Weaving as Elrond and Andy Serkis as Smeagol/Gollum.
Let’s face it though they have to get the original Lord of the Rings cast members back to reprise their roles it would not be the same if someone else had to take them on. I guess this is another reason why Peter Jackson just had to do The Hobbit too. Surely he would have no problem convincing the actors to come back again.
Filming is still scheduled to start in February 2011. So lets hope the next couple of weeks or even days brings us news of more of the LOTR cast members coming back to make appearances in The Hobbit.
The Beaver (2011) Poster & Trailer
Could this film mark the return of Mel Gibson back to the top of the acting world? Well watching the trailer it definitely looks like an emotional journey and a very good performance from Gibson. I’m actually looking forward to this one!

The Resident (2011) Poster
Being a big fan of Hilary Swank (MDB) I do always look to see which films she has coming out, just come across the poster for next years release called The Resident. Which sees her team up with Jeffrey Dean Morgan again.
