Sad news that Dame Joan Plowright passed away on 16th January 2025, at the age of 95. She was the widow of Laurence Olivier and had been a titan on stage, screen and tv for over 60 decades. Rest in peace to Dame Joan.

RIP Estelle Harris
Estelle Harris has passed away at the age of 93, most well known for her role as Estelle Costanza in Seinfeld a show that I eventually watched for the first time last year and she was just perfect as George’s mother on the show. She was also the voice of Mrs. Potato Head in the Toy Story franchise. Rest in peace Estelle.

Over the years the Best Actress in a Supporting Role race has become a lot stronger and that is certainly a very positive and good thing! Showing that the female roles are well and truly improving. Laura Dern has been running away with everything this awards season with some people arguing that Marriage Story wasn’t even her best 2019 performance thinking about her in Little Women! Being full on team Jojo Rabbit I would love to see Scarlett Johansson getting this one!
