When they bogey man/Pitch is trying to return fear to all children, this causes Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth-fairy, Sandman and newly picked Guardian Jack Frost to keep the children believing.

Sherrie was just a small town girl . . . living in a lonely world and Drew was just a city boy . . . Ok you see where I am going with that, don’t stop believing!

Eddie Murphy has been announced as the host for the 2012 Oscar ceremony. Having a total change back to a comedian hosting the night. After the unsuccessful turn of younger actors James Franco and Anne Hathaway – at least something different was tried last year, but I think the comedy value of a host really does make a massive difference. I loved Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin in 2010.
So I am quite pleased with this as I am sure Eddie Murphy will do a very good job and be very funny in the process. After all he is a pro at stand-up and should be more than at home on the Oscar stage.
The 2011 Tony Awards are taking place in a couple of weeks now and a lot of my favorite actors and actresses are going to be attending the event. I think its also very good to see how many of them have crossed over from the stage to the silver screen and starring in many different films.

Daniel Radcliffe, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Whoopi Goldberg will present Tonys during the June 12 ceremony honoring Broadway’s best.
Also slated to hit the stage at the Beacon Theater are Chris Rock, Alec Baldwin, Samuel L. Jackson, Kelsey Grammer, Viola Davis, Vanessa Redgrave, James Earl Jones and Harry Connick, Jr.
Christie Brinkley, David Hyde Pierce, Marg Helgenberger, Matthew Broderick, Angela Lansbury, Jim Parsons, Joel Grey, Patrick Wilson and Robert Morse will also appear.
Emmy winner Neil Patrick Harris returns to host the 65th annual show, after a successful attempt last year.
I actually attended the 2008 Tony Awards when Whoopi Goldberg was the presenter.

Well I must have not been paying attention to another other than Oscars talk for the past couple of months, as I totally missed that Alec Baldwin is now on the Hollywood Walk of Fame from the 16th February!
Well this year the approach from the Academy was to have two young actors to host. This called upon nominee James Franco and Anne Hathaway to add a different edge to the Oscars ceremony.
The main theme of the evening seemed to be looking back at the past of the Oscars, taking into consideration how times have changed. Including music and some scenery from different Oscar winning films of the past. Obviously all eyes were on Franco and Hathaway, who in my opinion were very disappointing. Hathaway was given the over the top, in your face excited role while Franco just stood looking slightly upwards. Which made the audience feel awkward, he did not look comfortable on the stage at all!
The main part I actually thought was amusing from Hathaway had to be seeing “On My Own” claiming that Hugh Jackman would not do a duet with her this year. (After she done one with him when he was the host). Personally I would have liked to see Jackman host again! Or even Alec Baldwin who I thought was fantastic with Steve Martin last year. Baldwin was involved in the opening segment which poked fun at Inception and going into his dreams to steal hosting tips. This let us see Franco and Hathaway in many of the nominated films.

Yes whilst this opening was was amusing, it seemed to all go very downhill from that point. I didn’t even manage to stay up and watch all of the ceremony. The tiredness and boredness really did take over and I went to bed, didn’t think I would miss very much as no shocks had occurred with the supporting actor/actress awards. Have to mention Kirk Douglas who was rather heartbreaking to watch as he really struggled to get his words out, yet managed to still be so funny and likable.
In my opinion I found the show quite a flop.
What does everyone else think?
Live updates with my thoughts on the 2011 Oscars!
Awards season really is in full swing, but it seems as though the same four actors are picking up the main awards for the films. Doesn’t even look close for the Oscars at all. I guess we could still get quite a surprise but not looking very likely. Quite a surprise for the SAG Awards has to be “The King’s Speech picking up the big award of the night for outstanding ensemble in a motion picture. Great to see a British film doing so well!

Outstanding Ensemble Motion Picture – Cast of “The King’s Speech”

A great thing about awards season is seeing the fashion on the red carpet. The men don’t really have much chance to really change what they are wearing but always look good in suits/tux’s. The dresses worn by the women often start trends off for everyone else!
