A couple of surprise omissions happened though with Timothee Chalamet overlooked for his incredible performance in Beautiful Boy and not forgetting that, Bradley Cooper didn’t get a nomination as Best Director which therefore leaves Cuaron as the biggest lock of the entire ceremony in the Best Director category.

Newcastle International Film Festival 2018

For the first time in 2018 we will see the Newcastle International Film Festival take place at many venues around Newcastle and Gateshead. Something which I find very exciting for the North East considering we get missed out for so many things.

The NIFF will be opened with a special screening of Get Carter along with a Q&A with the director and a VIP afterparty. What better film to open a film festival in Newcastle?

Dates: Thursday 29th March – Sunday 1st April 2018

This falls over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend which should be a great opportunity to get many people to attend!
