That’s right I have been approved as press for the 2020 BFI London Film Festival which is super exciting and something I have wanted to try and do for a few years now. BFI London Film Festival 2020 – Closing Film – Ammonite

This is truly fantastic news that Ammonite will be closing the London Film Festival. The first railer for the film was only released yesterday so this is great to know. Kate Winslet and Saoirse Ronan in a film together is certainly going to be very special to watch!

The BFI London Film Festival in partnership with American Express is delighted to announce that this year’s closing film will be the biopic Ammonite, directed by Francis Lee, starring Kate Winslet and Saoirse Ronan and produced by See-Saw Films. The film will receive its UK premiere on Saturday 17 October and will be available to UK audiences at cinemas across UK, who will also enjoy a virtual introduction from Lee and key cast.

BFI London Film Festival 2020

Is anyone else truly excited that this year the London Film Festival is going to more cinemas around the UK and also premieres happening online?

I certainly am, I have been lucky enough to get to a couple of films over the years while in London during October. But being based in the north east does make this very difficult given the hotel prices around the time of the festival also going up.

I really do hope that this new format will ensure more people can actually watch the films and I guess I have to also hope that cinemas in the north east will not be missed out (we often are for things like concerts etc up here).

Two weeks to wait as the line up is being announced online on Tuesday 8th September!
