Today sees the launch of the 7th LOCO London Comedy Film Festival 2019 which welcomes the festival’s most exciting programme yet. Taking place Thursday to Sunday, 11-14th July at the BFI, this year’s festival promises to feature some of the funniest films on screen alongside a riotous shorts programme, LOCO masterclasses with special guests, industry events and training, on top of a 30th Anniversary screening of the rom-com classic When Harry Met Sally, Directed by Rob Reiner and starring Billy Crystal, Meg Ryan and Carrie Fisher, on Saturday 13th July.

This year’s festival will open with Dominic Brigstocke’s UK Premiere of Horrible Histories: The Movie – Rotten Romans starring Craig Roberts, Kim Cattrall, Nick Frost, Kate Nash and Derek Jacobi. Atti (Sebastian Croft) is a Roman teenager with ‘Atti-tude’, a smart kid who likes to bend the rules. When one of his schemes (selling horse wee as gladiator sweat) falls foul of Emperor Nero (Craig Roberts), Atti is forced to join the army and is sent to miserable, cold, wet Britannia. There the natives are revolting, quite literally, as Boudicca (Kate Nash), Queen of the Iceni tribe, takes on the might of Rome.

This Monday in January is seen as being Blue Monday the most depressing day of the year, that is due to the festive period being more than over and struggling through January still waiting to be paid! Therefore I decided to put together a list of 7 feel good films which I totally love.
Isn’t escapism and being made to feel happy one of the main reasons we watch so many films? Well, it certainly is for me so I thought what better day than the most depressing of the year to think about the films that make me very happy!
Here are the films that you have the last chance to see on Sky Cinema during October 2017! It certainly looks like we are slowly losing from the Disney Cinema channel, with Pirates of the Caribbean going this month!
I wasn’t going to mention that it is Valentine’s Day . . . Honest. But every year I cannot help but come up with something to post about. Last year I went for it with some huge posts and put together 100 Romantic Films but if you are more cynical than that here is a Top 10 of Anti Valentine’s Day Films!

No better way to start off than with this incredibly amazing (and soppy) quote from one of my all time favourite films ever. You cannot help but love When Harry Met Sally!

Here we have it the top 5 . . .
As 2015 is coming to a close and we are about to start 2016 I thought the perfect way to do that was to take a look back in the film world at films which have fantastic New Year’s Eve scenes or moments. Might be a little bit strange considering I am not really a very big fan of New Year in all honesty and don’t have any plans myself for tonight. It probably doesn’t help that 2015 has been a truly awful year for me, but the less said about that the better. So what better way than to disappear into the world of film and see characters have some great and maybe interesting New Year’s Eve moments?

I do enjoy a good rendition of Auld Lang Syne though in all honesty and you will see that by some of the choices below!
I went to see the latest UK touring production of Oklahoma over the weekend (review will be up soon) so that is why I have decided to post a couple of videos for this week’s Musical Moments.
Ok so it’s Monday so your thinking no it really cannot be a beautiful morning, so I decided to even it out by picking Hugh Jackman’s performance 😉
Also a clip from one of my favourite films ‘When Harry Met Sally’ involving Billy Crystal and a karaoke machine as he sings a little bit of ‘Surrey with a Fringe on Top’ ❤
This is one of those films which has grown on me over the years. It took me a while to catch up and watch it, but I am so pleased I have. The more I watch it the more I love it and think it’s a pretty incredible film, the script is fantastic which has led to this blog post. So many fantastic lines and conversations that it was actually very difficult to just pick 10 quotes from this film! Billy Crystal really can deliver a line and I am sure you will notice a lot of these come from the wisdom of Harry. If you haven’t seen this film, you really need to. Let’s Go To The Movies Review – if you want to read more about it.

This is without a doubt still one of the smartest and best romantic comedy films around. Harry and Sally met one night and over time became friends and even learnt to love one another.
