Cinema First – The 450 Films For UK Cinemas!

Today Cinema First released a list of films that can be used at cinemas when they reopen in July. With Cineworld being the first to announce a date for England on 10th July they will then need films to show. The list has a very wide variety of genres as well as from all decades. I personally hope to see a lot of older films on the big screen for the first time, I don’t want recent ones given a release! Let’s appreciate some amazing films on the big screen for what could well be the very first time (Yes Casablanca and Some Like It Hot I am talking about you, not forgetting my all time favourite When Harry Met Sally!)

Theatre: Layton Williams cast as Jamie New!

Everybody’s Talking About Jamie has taken the West End and musical theatre world by storm since debuting in Sheffield before transferring to the London in November 2017. I was lucky enough to see this fantastic show in January 2018 and totally loved it. Since then it has gone from strength to strength extending the booking period and a live stream to the cinema.

North East Theatre – April 2016

Considering I spend quite a lot of time at the Theatre (although not as much as I would like) I thought I would do a post each month highlighting the shows you can catch in the North East of England. I haven’t come across many blogs which feature shows in the North East and reviews of shows at either the Sunderland Empire or Theatre Royal in Newcastle come from the local papers/press.

Here is what you can catch around the North East in April!

Tues 5th-Sat 9th – Oliver! (Amateur Production, Tyne Theatre and Opera House)

Sat 9th –Patricia Routledge In Conversation With Edward Seckerson (Customs House/South Shields)

This is something I am looking to get a ticket for as I think it will be really interesting to see the legend that is Mrs Bucket from Keeping Up Appearances talking about her career etc!

From Stage to Screen Blogathon – Everything I’ve Seen

When I came across this fantastic Blogathon idea by Rachel over at Rachel’s Theatre Reviews and Rosie over at The Rosebud Cinema. It was something that I just had to get involved with, because as well as loving the cinema and films I have a passion for the theatre and seeing shows. This is something which I have now properly been doing for the past 10 years, yes realising that has made me stop and think, so it seems to be a perfect time to put together this blog post. I am going to look at all of the different shows I have seen on the stage and then also seen the film version.

Blogathon: My Movie Alphabet

Stumbled across Mettel Ray Movie Blog and spotted a fantastic blogathon and thought I would get involved. Fantastic idea of coming up with your movie alphabet making it consist of moviesdirectorsactors and actresses who’s lives revolve around movies.

The way I decided to approach picking my alphabet was to put down the first 5 movie related things that came to mind for the certain letter! Well most of the time 5 . . . That was actually harder than I thought!

Double Feature Theatre

The double feature theatre is what I would show in a week, the theme for the whole week is going to be Sports films. Each day we will have two films on from the same sport. I work in sport and have a degree in sport, so the chance to relate my love of watching films in my spare time and how I make my living seemed like such a good way to go with my theatre. A lot of sports films have been very good and very well receieved. I have decided to pick different sport’s for the double feature with three that don’t fit into the others for the triple play on the Sunday.

When possible I have tried to have women and men’s sport in the selections, but also not just films focused on the players/athletes of a sport. I have also tried to remember about the fans and agents who are also a massive part of sport as well.
