‘ONE’ OF MY ALL-TIME FAVORITE CARTOONS BLOGATHON!

This Blogathon is being hosted by MovieMovieBlogBlog!

The rules are simple:

Please leave me a message in the “Comments” section below that includes the name and URL of your blog, and the name of the cartoon you choose to write about.
Below are banners to advertise the blogathon.

Once you have completed Step # 1, please grab a banner, display it on your blog, and link it back to this blog.
The blogathon will take place from Fri., Nov. 6, through Sun., Nov. 8, 2015. Once you have posted your blogathon entry on one of those dates, please post its URL in the “Comments” section so that I can link our blog back to it.

I very luckily came across this Blogathon as it started this weekend and just really felt the need to write a post about one of my all time favourite cartoons. The first one that came into my head (I have probably mentioned it a lot of the blog) was Aladdin. It was the first film I went to see at the cinema as a small child and I still enjoy it to this day. I think it has a little bit of everything and is a lot better than some of the more recently released animated films.

Blogathon: 7 Childhood Films – Animation

When putting together my 7 Childhood Films for the Childhood Films Blogathon I am hosting I realised that I had not actually put any animated films in! Now that is such a silly thing to do really considering animation is a big part of what you will watch as a child. So I decided to submit another post and have 7 animated films from my childhood in this blog post!

I was never massively into the Disney Princess thing so that will just clarify why not many of them are included in this list. I was going to cheat and include Space Jam with it being part animated but resisted that temptation!

Just missed out of my list . . . Sister Act

Blogathon – The Classic Movie History Project (2015)

I was very excited to see a post about The Classic Movie History Project Blogathon last week, so have managed to jump at the chance to look at some older films that I have throughly enjoyed and put my thoughts all together in one post about quite a few films.

The blogathon is being hosted by Fritz at Movies Silently, Ruth at Silver Screenings, Aurora at Once Upon A Screen and sponsored by Flicker Alley. My post is in the modern era . . .

Announcement: Childhood Films Blogathon

I have decided to attempt to host my second Blogathon here on Let’s Go To The Movies. The first one went well, but was not a massive success. So I am hoping that this one will more than make up for it!

With the release of Jurassic World and all the talk heading back to Jurassic Park which is very much one of my childhood films the idea for this Blogathon came about. So I thought why not make it into a Blogathon and learn more about your fellow bloggers and if they still actually like any of their childhood films.

Happy New Year 2015!

Happy New Year to all of the followers of Let’s Go To The Movies

Thank you for you support over the past year (and years). It was a truly record breaking time in 2014 for Let’s Go To The Movies. I hit a record number of followers, of likes and comments.

As as well as reaching 1 million hits for site overall.

2014 was also the most successful reaching over 250,000 posts in this year alone!

I also broke my record for number of films watching at the cinema in a calendar year (separate post will be appearing for that). I also attempted my first blogathon that didn’t go massively to plan, but I tried! (My Hometown Blogathon)

So thank you once again to all of the people who support the site, like my posts and comment on them. Onwards and upwards for 2015 and let’s hope I can break records all over again.

My Hometown Blogathon!

This is Let’s Go To The Movies first attempt of hosting a blogathon! Which hasn’t worked out too well with the timing of it all, having been in South Africa for 10 days last week! This did however mean a very long trip on a plane and plenty of films watched and caught up with. But also meant I didn’t have time to send out any updates and see if anyone else wanted to take part in the Hometown Blogathon, so basically if you would like to submit your town at any point over the next week then feel free to put a post together!

Please find below the fantastic bloggers who have took the time to put together some brilliant posts about where they live (or used to live).

Montreal, Canada – Tranquil Dreams

Birmingham, England – Flick Chicks

Queens, New York, USA – Dell on Movies

Poços de Caldas, MG, Brazil – Critica Retro

Perth, Australia – Feeling Fuzzier

Staunton, VA and The Shenandoah Valley – Mysterious Bibliophile

Chicago, USA – All Eyes On Screen

From Stage to Screen Blogathon – Everything I’ve Seen

When I came across this fantastic Blogathon idea by Rachel over at Rachel’s Theatre Reviews and Rosie over at The Rosebud Cinema. It was something that I just had to get involved with, because as well as loving the cinema and films I have a passion for the theatre and seeing shows. This is something which I have now properly been doing for the past 10 years, yes realising that has made me stop and think, so it seems to be a perfect time to put together this blog post. I am going to look at all of the different shows I have seen on the stage and then also seen the film version.
