A few days on ago on Facebook this incredible memory popped up from 2008 when I attended the Tony Awards in New York! An amazing evening seeing so many different people perform from so many outstanding shows. Watching In the Heights pick up the best new musical award, the night after seeing it on Broadway.

Bette Midler is back on Broadway in Hello, Dolly! A few days ago the first productional photos were released for the show which has started previews this week and opens in April. The best thing about this though? I have tickets for my birthday in July when I am in NYC, on Sunday 16th July. I mean we probably won’t be able to see much as we are so high up but we will be in the Theatre.
Over the weekend I have booked up to head to New York in July for my birthday. It has been a pretty long time since my last trip there so I am very much looking forward to it. In the build up and celebration of booking thought it was only right for New York, New York to be the Musical moment today!
I will be looking to see a few shows on Broadway, if I can figure out how to find cheaper tickets as the prices are so high is unreal!
I am also going to visit film related places so if you can think of any please let me know, Katz Deli from When Harry Met Sally is certainly one place I want to go!

This album is rather impressive as it combines theatre songs with some very well known actors to sing with the legend that is Barbra Streisand. I first heard about it on a feature from Good Morning Britain who showed clips of the recording sessions along with a very excited Jamie Foxx. Brilliant to see how much of a big star Streisand is!
I was so curious about this album that I went straight onto Spotify to see that only one song was available so therefore iTunes to buy it!

In 2015 I managed to catch a record breaking 20 musicals and plays on stage in both the North East (Sunderland Empire or Theatre Newcastle) as well as trips to London to see them in the West End. You can read through the normal list 2015 Theatre. This number was certainly boosted by the Wicked UK Tour visiting Sunderland which I just had to go and see more than once, three times to be exact. This was also down to getting some fantastic deals with ATG Theatre Card, as for less popular touring shows at the Sunderland Empire I do get some discounts. This is nice and means you can buy last minute tickets for some shows, obviously depending on how popular they are.
The show I mentioned in my 2014 at the Theatre you know just the small one starring Imelda Staunton . . . Gypsy I went to see twice in London! Let’s say goodbye to 2015 . . .

Cast

Riggan used to be a big hollywood star as a superhero Birdman. But now he is all washed up, no money and not much hope trying to get his play up and running on Broadway.

A cinema release was given to the revival of Romeo and Juliet which took place on Broadway from August until December 2013 on Broadway. It came to the UK last night for myself as I went to see it at Cineworld. Yes I wanted to see it because Orlando Bloom is Romeo and that certainly takes me back to my teenage years and biggest crush.
