Meerkat Movies has launched its annual cinema report,  revealing the habits of UK cinema goers from the past year, whilst highlighting key opinions from the cinema-going British public, with key findings including;

  • UK cinemas saw the highest attendance levels for almost 50 years in 2018, with a 3.7% year-on-year increase
  • Musical adaptations are more popular than ever, with David Bowie’s story topping the list of icons we’d next like to see at the cinema
  • 75% of consumers polled say they feel James Bond should remain as a male lead
  • When movie fans were asked what films they would most like to see a sequel to, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of GrindelwaldDeadpool 2 and Avengers: Infinity War came in as the top three
