November 2016 at the Cinema

fantastic_beasts_and_where_to_find_them_ver4_zpsdbh6ugss

I am going to make a monthly post from now on having a little look back at how many films I managed to catch at the cinema. I will also be picking my film and performances of the month!

I thought it would also be a great idea to highlight the amazing value for money a Cineworld Unlimted Card is at £17.40 per month and seeing six films that meant I paid £2.90 for each film!

I managed to see the following films:

6th – The Light Between Oceans

9th – Nocturnal Animals

16th – Arrival

18th – Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

22nd – Allied

30th – The Edge of Seventeen

Cineworld: Wristband!

b77ee513-d0fd-49ce-8a21-2432070b99a6_zpsnyzt9jb3

Quite recently I saw something on Twitter about Cineworld doing wristbands with collectable film things to pin on them. So eventually when I went to the cinema last (to see Finding Dory) I bought one for my cousin’s little boy who is 5, he totally loved it!

At the moment they have four different choices in the things you can buy which meant it only cost £2 for the wristband already filled with the “charms” which works out the same as buying them separate at 50p each as you get a free wristband with the first one you buy.

It was a little disappointing they didn’t have anything for Finding Dory, maybe they will add that next? As I told him I would keep a look out for any new ones to add to his collection.

7 Worst Films I’ve Sat Through at the Cinema – Part 2

When you see a lot of films at the cinema you are bound to see some awful ones. You can refresh your memory on the first 7 films I picked here. I have decided to follow it up after seeing The Boss on Wednesday, it was awful but not quite made it into the lists yet!

Have you been unlucky enough to watch any of the following films?

Cineworld Secret Screening 5 is . . .

Triple 9

Cineworld Secret Screening 5 – Possible Films

We have a very fast turn around from the 4th Secret Screening which was the very disappointing ‘In the Heart of the Sea’ which was only in December 2015. We have the next Secret Screening all set for Saturday 6th February 2016. I like the Saturday night approach such a great idea!

When booking the tickets you are told 120 minutes for the running time.

Zoolander 2 was the first talked about as being for this screening but it has previews on the same day so that rules that film out!

I haven’t seen any clues released from Cineworld this time . . .

The 7 Worst People at the Cinema

In the last couple of weeks I had my worst ever cinema going experience. Two men sat behind me were incredibly rude, it all started with stupidly copying everything in the adverts. I was just hoping that it would stop for the film, unfortunately not. They kept talking and laughing at things that were not funny (the film was Room for gods sake) as well as constantly kicking the back of my seat and the one next to me. I was alone so did not want to say anything incase it made it all worse and caused a scene in the screen. Massive thanks to Cineworld though for the gift they sent me because of this!

From that it got me thinking about the worst people you come up against when going to the cinema. You know the people you don’t actually understand why they even bothered to come into a dark room and watch a film when they are clearly not even interested a tiny bit in what they are watching.

The Hateful Eight won’t be shown at Cineworld!

January is pretty much the craziest yet best month in the UK when it comes to going to the cinema, we get plenty of great films that we just know are going to be in and around the awards season obviously heading towards the Oscars. A film that has been talked about a lot since it’s US roadshow has been The Hateful Eight. Obviously the hype as well surrounding the film due to the fact that it is the next Quentin Tarantino film, and something I had in my cinema plans to go and see on it’s UK release this Friday.

As you know I have an Unlimited Card for Cineworld, which incase you don’t know are monthly passes where you pay once and go as many times as you want or possibly can! It really does work out at a fantastic saving over the course of the year. Although sometimes the film choices or lack of wide releases does have an impact if you really are into your films of course. But this is the big one really Cineworld will not be showing The Hateful Eight. This was first discovered and announced last night as people noticed it had been taken off the website/app/booking places for the whole cinema chain!

2015 at the Cinema!

2015 has been a very good year in terms of films and I had plenty of Cinema trips to keep me going over the year. I am going to go on record here and say that I think it is actually a lot better than 2014. Not only have I had a good time with the films, I have also branched out and even been to a few cinema’s that aren’t Cineworld. As you know I have the monthly pass which obviously helps getting to the cinema a lot. This year though I attended my first film festival in London which also meant I got to go to the legendary Leicester Square Odeon as well, just an added bonus. I then also went to a local small cinema to catch The Lobster considering it did not get a very wide release from Cineworld at all, so that was another fantastic experience. Also adding Vue to the list as I picked up some amazing 3D Star Wars glasses when seeing The Force Awakens for the first time.

This time last year I was celebrating a record-breaking total. You know what I have only gone and done it again setting a new record this year, beating last year by a whole 4 films! Which I think is pretty impressive when some months were a little poor, but I got off to an amazing start seeing a whopping 12 films in January. That is always the best month in the UK for seeing films as it is all building up to the Oscars.

2015 – 66 Films

Previous years at the cinema . . .

2014 – 62 Films

2013 – 59 Films

2012 – 40 Films

2011 – 60 Films

2010 – 33 Films

2009 – 34 Films

2008 – 49 Films

2007 – 39 Films

2006 – 21 Films
