7 Best Film Mothers

As it is Mother’s Day (in the UK at least) I decided that I would then pick my 7 favourite film mothers who are the best mothers!

Molly Weasley – Harry Potter Series

harry-potter_2408268a_zpswx4wc58s

What better way to start off the list than with Molly Weasley played so fantastically by Julie Walters ever present in the series and a brilliant mother to all of her children. As well as taking it upon herself to then look after Harry. Her best moment coming when stepping up to fight against Bellatrix in the finale. Certainly someone you would love to have as your mother, always looking out for you and a standard knitted sweater for Christmas!

7 Films you forgot Sarah Jessica Parker was in!

My previous blog post about Sarah Jessica Parker’s new film ‘I Don’t Know How She Does It’ got me thinking about her career on the silver screen. She has been in quite a lot of films now, but can you actually remember many of them? I am guessing for a lot of people the answer will probably be known. Most well-known for her role as Carrie Bradshaw in the Sex and the City TV Show.

When looking at her different roles to make this list, one thing that I seemed to notice is that not many of her characters are liked by the other characters. So that probably means that audiences aren’t really too fond on them either. That could possibly be a reason why SJP is not very well received by critics and movie watchers. Although I will always consider myself a fan after Sex and the City, and always hope that she gets some good movies to appear in.

Morning Glory (2010) Posters

Morning Glory is a film based on a TV show and already has quite a few posters released! Harrison Ford is starting to look very old now, get him back as Indiana Jones makes him look younger! I am quite a fan of Diane Keaton, so I will be going to see this film when it is released.

Jules too old for Rom-Com?

Oscar winner Julia Roberts and queen of the rom-com genre throughout the 90’s has said that she now feels too old to be in romantic comedies. I hope this is mainly because the scripts she has been given for rom-com’s aren’t fitting for her and she won’t completely rule out a return to the genre she really owned for a decade! If we look at Diane Keaton and Meryl Streep in Nancy Meyers films they are great roles for the older woman, and Jules isn’t that old yet.

So we will have to watch this space!

Movie Quote of the Day 44

Today’s quote is a rather amusing exchange between Jack Nicholson and Diane Keaton in Something’s Gotta Give. I wonder how many men think the truth has versions?

I have never lied to you, I have always told you some version of the truth.”

“The truth doesn’t have versions, okay?”
