RIP Diane Keaton

Super sad news that has broken in the last half hour that actress Diane Keaton has passed away at the age of 79. An Oscar winning actress for her role in Annie Hall, was also nominated on three other occasions for Reds, Marvin’s Room and Something’s Gotta Give.

She had a truly incredible career in film, starring across many different genres. Including The Godfather trilogy and Manhattan. My favourites include Father of the Bride and The First Wives Club, as they give me happy memories.

Thoughts go out to her family and friends ❤️

Cuban-American Billy Herrera does not take it very well that his daughter is about to get married into a Mexican-American family, really getting into the boundaries of different cultures.

Blogathon: My Movie Alphabet

Stumbled across Mettel Ray Movie Blog and spotted a fantastic blogathon and thought I would get involved. Fantastic idea of coming up with your movie alphabet making it consist of moviesdirectorsactors and actresses who’s lives revolve around movies.

The way I decided to approach picking my alphabet was to put down the first 5 movie related things that came to mind for the certain letter! Well most of the time 5 . . . That was actually harder than I thought!

Nancy Meyers: An Appreciation

Nancy Meyers is an American film director, producer and screenwriter. Her newest movie “It’s Complicated” starring Meryl Streep, Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin is due for release tomorrow in the UK, therefore I decided to make a blog celebrating what Nancy has done so far in the movies . . . mainly for women as that is the target audience of her movies. Making movies that other people probably wouldn’t with older actors in love stories (Somethings Gotta Give) and breaking the typical Hollywood mould, which I think is just brilliant. She is definitely one of Hollywood’s most powerful women.

She’s directed “It’s Complicated” (2009), “The Holiday” (2006), “Something’s Gotta Give” (2003), “What Women Want” (2000) and “The Parent Trap” (1998).

She’s written “It’s Complicted” (2009), “The Holiday” (2006), “Something’s Gotta Give” (2003), “The Parent Trap” (1998), “Father of the Bride Park II” (1995), “I Love Trouble” (1994), “Once Upon a Crime” (1992), “Father of the Bride” (1991), “Baby Boom” (1987) and “Private Benjamin” (1980).

She has also produced most of the movies she has written and directed.
