The Hobbit (2012) First Pictures

The first pictures have been released for ‘The Hobbit’ and Martin Freeman in full Bilbo costume! So annoying that we still have a year and a half to wait to see the first film part of ‘The Hobbit’. They are currently filming in New Zealand.

Marilyn Monroe dress sells for £2.8m

Over the weekend the very famous white dress worn by Marilyn Monroe was auctioned and was bought for a very cool £2.8m ($4.6m). Possibly one of the most well known dresses in film history! The image of Monroe getting the gust of wind from the subway and blowing her dress up has to be one of the most well known as well.

An unreal amount of money considering it was bought for just $200 dollars and for it to make so much money, just shows how much of a pull Monroe still is in the Hollywood world. I don’t imagine this is something that will ever happen with dresses or any clothes from recent films.

Harry Potter Challenge – Day 2: Your fave movie

Another tough decision but I went with Prisoner of Azkaban, as it was the start of the films getting darker and having a little bit more edge to them. Allowing us to find out more about what happened the night Harry’s parents were killed and the first meeting with Sirius Black who we find out is Harry’s godfather.

Harry Potter Blogathon – A Celebration

As everyone has probably noticed I have been going rather crazy on the Harry Potter posts, getting caught up with the film reviews and posting the new posters coming out of the Deathly Hallows. I have almost finished reading all of the books (for the very first time) and utterly spellbound by them. I thought it would be appropriate as the time is approaching for the end of the film series, that a blogathon would be a good idea.

If you have any Harry Potter related posts you would like to link from my blog, just let me know. By commenting or email. I think we should all celebrate how incredible the Harry Potter series has been for film. We will have this going on from now until 15th August. Giving plenty of time after the July 15th release of the final film.

Best of British in Harry Potter

The Harry Potter film series has done wonders for the British film industry over the years and also been able to showcase so many talents in the films as well. We certainly do see the best of British in the series. Some with big parts throughout all (or most) of the films. While others have smaller parts, or even just cameos. But they really have been such a credit for showcasing the talent which is on offer in Britain. A lot of the actors and actress are held in high regard in the theatre world. Some of my favorite actors and actress have appeared in the film series which is so refreshing to see so many of them in the same films.

A lot of well-respected actors appear in the films bringing life to the much-loved characters from the books.

Alan Rickman – Severus Snape

A very well-loved actor who always seems to be the bad guy. But is he always the bad guy in the Potter series? Well that’s the difficult thing to figure out. One minute you love Snape and the next you hate him, you love to hate him and I don’t think anyone but Rickman could have you thinking that about a character.

Day 12: Favorite love story

Possibly one of the most heartbreaking love stories in movie history, yet I think it’s my favorite. Real love doesn’t always end with the happily ever after, to really prove that he loves Isla, Rick must let her go. But remember they will always have Paris.

It never fails to make me cry when he tells her to go at the airport with her husband, as she has no idea that he had no plan on going with her. It really is so tragic, but such a love story!

Day 11: Favorite kid’s movie

Well this was the first film I saw at the cinema, probably cheating having another animated film in the list but nevermind! I do love this film it really does have a special place in the films I have watched list! It has a love story, is very funny with Robin Williams voicing the Genie!
