As you will always already know if you follow my blog I absolutely love Sport in Film. I work in sport and find the film appreciation of that to be something special at times.

I have therefore decided to try and come up with reasons that make a great sports film and then come up with the ultimate film that well pretty much has it all. Which might be easier said than done considering the high calibre of films available.
I was sent a link to this timeline and thought it was well worth posting. Considering I work full time in football and being a fan and player as well it was appropriate to include it!

Inspired by a true story, Sir Matt Busby the legendary Manchester United manager helps Georgie Gallagher and his friends become a team to compete in the Manchester youth cup.

George is a former professional football player who is currently struggling to get a job after his playing career has finished. He is in the US and trying to help provide for his son, and making a career of being an anchor. While trying to pursue this new career within sport he ends up coaching his son’s team.

The third installment of the Goal Trilogy see’s us travel to Germany for the 2006 World Cup, with focus on three players. Santiago Munez (Becker) the focus of the first two films is in the Mexico squad, while his two Real Madrid teammates Liam Adams (Feild) and Charlie Braithwaite (Gregory) are in the England squad.
