Harry Potter Challenge – Day 6: What house would you want to be in

If you got to choose which Hogwart’s house you were in between, Griffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw. That is an easy choice and just has to be Griffindor. The house which values courage, bravery, loyalty, nerve and chivalry. Its mascot is the lion, and its colours are scarlet and gold.

Harry Potter Challenge – Day 5: Fave male character and why

My favorite male character has to be Albus Brian Wulfric Percival Dumbledore. He is just such a fantastic character with so much depth and so many levels. It is so easy to love him, particularly in the books. I feel in the films he doesn’t get as much time as he deserved from reading the books. Even when we start to doubt him the Deathly Hallows, we should know better than to doubt a great wizard like Dumbeldore.

Harry Potter Challenge – Day 3: Is there any of the films adaptations that have made you angry because they’ve ignored important parts of the book

The two main parts which I felt were very important in the books yet over looked in the films were when Ron and Hermione become prefects and Harry did not. This allowed us to see where some of the anger came between them, with them having to do the prefect duties and leaving Harry alone (especially on the train to school).

The other has to be when Percy falls out with his family and no longer speaks to them, this was massive in the books. Yet nothing in the films. I thought it was important, due to how close the Weasley family are. Which goes across quite a few of the books, and he just isn’t really mentioned at all in the films. I am sure they could have at least had a few references in the films without a massive increase to the running time.

Harry Potter Challenge – Day 1: Your fave book

This was such a difficult decision as all of the books really are just a joy to read and addictive from start to finish. I eventually decided on the Half-Blood Prince because I literally read it in 2 days. I could not put it down at all. We get to know so much more about the link with Harry and the plot really does thicken leading into the final book.

The Harry Potter World

I have eventually well and truly entered the Harry Potter world and I love it! Yes I have now seen all of the films and very much looking forward to the release of the Deathly Hallows: Part II. But up until seeing Part I last year I hadn’t even seen all of the films (Yes that did cause some confusion as somethings that were going on I had no clue about). But since seeing that film I bought the full collection of the books and over the past week I have read the 3rd and half way through the 4th and they really are just fantastic. Whilst reading I keep thinking why haven’t and didn’t I read these years ago! I was the ideal age when the first one was released that J.K. Rowling was going for.

This has inspired me to re-enter the film world after reading the books, which in all honesty probably won’t take me much longer as they are so addictive to read. Loving every second of them. So well written and thought out. I know doing it the wrong way round after seeing the films but everyone keeps telling me that the differences are easy to notice while getting further through the books.

In the build up to the final film release my blog is going to be totally taken over by Harry Potter! I plan on top 10 lists, a deep look into the characters and in general a celebration of the most successful British film franchise of all time. How many actors are involved and how important it really has been in the film industry. A lot of my favorite British actors have featured in the Potter films as well.

Harry Potter Book Collection

After my cinema trip on Tuesday to see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I . . . I placed an order for the full collection of the books. I have never read any of them before, but friends who are massive fans of the books have told me to read them for years now. I have eventually decided that it would be a very good idea to read them!

So I have set myself the goal to read all seven books before Part II of the Deathly Hallows is released in July . . . the day before my birthday! I think I will also treat myself to the blu ray collection which can be bought for around 25 pound at the moment. Which is brilliant for 6 films on blu ray.

Any big Harry Potter books fans out there?
