Inside View: No Man’s Land

This year I signed up to become a Friend of the Theatre Royal which means you get discounts for the Theatre tickets, priority booking and other perks. Such as Inside View events, I had no idea about these until getting my first newsletter ahead of the new season going on sale. When I read about them thought it sounded very interesting getting an insight into a show and possible appearance by cast members. As soon as I saw that one was down for No Man’s Land and £2 more expensive than normal I just had to go for it and hope Ian McKellen and/or Patrick Stewart would be involved.

Stage Door – Ian McKellen

There was a little bit of a gap between Sir Pat coming out the door to Sir Ian making an appearance and you could feel the excitement building as he was spotted inside the Theatre ready to come out!

He was absolutely fantastic working down the line signing autographs and the best part having photos taken with people as well! Luckily I made friends in the queue and asked if they could take my photo and I would return the favour which worked out perfectly.

Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart Day!

mobile_zpsoa4oeier

Today is eventually the day when I am going to see these two legends on stage! I haven’t even had to travel to London as they have been so kind to do a small tour of the play and come up to Newcastle. It feels like I have been waiting forever to see it after having the tickets for months and months, I am sure it will be worth the wait (and missing the Newcastle United match).

I think I will even attempt the stage door to see if I can catch a glimpse of them leaving, possible autograph/photos!

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (2013) Review

The second instalment of Bilbo Baggins and his adventure with the dwarfs to help Thorin reclaim the throne under the mountain from dragon Smaug. It picks up where The Unexpected Journey left off and we follow the group travelling across middle earth to get to Misty Mountains. It’s not a simple journey as they must head through Mirkwood forest and Lake-town, which means plenty of Elves and Men have now joined the tale.
