“Life, uh, finds a away.”

Now that I have your attention with this quote from Jurassic Park, you read it in Jeff Goldblum’s voice didn’t you.

Just thought I would post a little update due to the lack of blog posts and film reviews. Believe it or not until Thursday (two days ago) I hadn’t been to the cinema for a month, which I actually feel is the longest I have gone in many years. That was for a few reasons really, being busy having started a new job in January, closing in on finishing my PGCE and not really wanting to see the films that had been released. Years ago I used to try and watch every single film that was released but these days I feel I make better choices for my personal prefrences when it comes to what I will actually enjoy watching.

It appears though, that Cineworld missed me in that month and have sent me a free popcorn and drink which I will natuarally be using in that 7 day period. But can we also just talk about the quality of films on offer over that past month not being very appealing, also please feel free to update me if you feel I have actually missed something good. On Thursday I caught The Penguin Lessons (with review to follow).

16 Years of Let’s Go To The Movies!

That’s right today marks the anniversary of Let’s Go To The Movies or blogaversary as it would have once been known. On the 9th February 2009 I made my first post and let’s face it I probably didn’t think that 16 years later I would still be reviewing the films that I have watched at the cinema, now on streaming and catching up with classics of years gone by. But somehow Let’s Go To The Movies is still going and in the past few months I hit that incredible 2 million views and eventually managed to purchase the .com domain I had been after for a long time.

Thank you once again to everyone for the incredible support, as it stands I have 2289 film reviews on Let’s Go To The Movies. Plenty more to come!

30 Years of Jurassic Park! 🦖

That’s right on this date way back in 1993, Jurassic Park was released at the cinema (in the US) as I have since found out that it was actually released in the UK on my 6th birthday on the 16th July. Anyway the 9th June was the first release date so I thought it was the perfect opportunity for a celebration blog post gushing about everything Jurassic Park.

I still find myself totally blown away with the film when watching it now and the fact that it has a lovely 4K UHD upgrade makes it look as good as ever. That is something that just highlights the impressive nature of the filmmaking behind it all really, the fact that it is still better than what they did with Jurassic World.

Recreating the Movie – Jurassic Park

Jurassic World Dominion (2022) Review

Four years after the destruction of Isla Nobler and the dinosaurs now live and hunt alongside humans all over the world, creating a rather difficult and strange civilisation. Things are about to take another turn when crops are destroyed by locust which were thought to be extinct.

The Best Film Related Christmas Jumpers!

Over the past few years I have found myself buying a new Christmas jumper, mainly for Christmas Day each year and have gone for film related ones in recent times. Although rather disappointing when hardly anyone actually knew that my Golden Girls jumper was in fact the Golden Girls. You can get some outstanding ones now which is why I decided to put together this blog post to highlight just how amazing some of the Christmas jumpers are and they appeal to pretty much every single fandom! Whatever you love the most you are guaranteed to find a jumper for that somewhere!

You can get a lot that are in sweatshirt style but I still personally prefer the proper trashy jumper style and when you add in film they really do have some great levels of detail on them.

Let’s Go To The Movies – 50 Favourite Films!

This is something I have been putting together for quite a long time now and I have held off posting it or even attempting to start the blog post in fear that I have forgotten and somehow missed a favourite film from the list. Barring in mind I got up to 72 films and then had to cut it down to the 50. I would like to make clear these are my favourite films, some might have happened to win Oscars as well and some certainly have not at all. The way I have decided on my favourites is the sheer joy they bring and the number of rewatches I have had over the years. While I have listed 1-50 a lot of them can be shifted around and changed with each other. It is going to highlight my love for musicals and for certain actors and actresses! I doubt it will contain many surprises though!

Game: Pop! Blitz

I have an every growing collection of Pop! figures, seriously it does become very obsessive. I know that they divide opinion and seem to be a very much love or hate collectable item. I for one love them so when an advert popped up on my iPad for this game I have to admit that I was rather excited. Another way to collect POP!s but where I don’t have to find space for them to be displayed!
