Golden Globes 2010 – Presenters

As the 2010 Golden Globe ceremony is upon us on Sunday, I thought I would start posting some build up and take a look to see who is going to be presenting (and get excited if my favorites are presenting).

The rest of the presenters are, Josh Brolin, Taylor Lautner, Amy Poehler, Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Aniston, Halle Berry, Cher, Chace Crawford, Cameron Diaz, Colin Farrell, Jodie Foster, Jennifer Garner, Matthew Fox, Mel Gibson, Tom Hanks, Neil Patrick Harris, Nicole Kidman, Sophia Loren, Kiefer Sutherland, Kate Winslet, Sam Worthington, Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio.

This makes for a very good line up in the presenters, and what should be a good show.

Are you favorites involved?

Nancy Meyers: An Appreciation

Nancy Meyers is an American film director, producer and screenwriter. Her newest movie “It’s Complicated” starring Meryl Streep, Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin is due for release tomorrow in the UK, therefore I decided to make a blog celebrating what Nancy has done so far in the movies . . . mainly for women as that is the target audience of her movies. Making movies that other people probably wouldn’t with older actors in love stories (Somethings Gotta Give) and breaking the typical Hollywood mould, which I think is just brilliant. She is definitely one of Hollywood’s most powerful women.

She’s directed “It’s Complicated” (2009), “The Holiday” (2006), “Something’s Gotta Give” (2003), “What Women Want” (2000) and “The Parent Trap” (1998).

She’s written “It’s Complicted” (2009), “The Holiday” (2006), “Something’s Gotta Give” (2003), “The Parent Trap” (1998), “Father of the Bride Park II” (1995), “I Love Trouble” (1994), “Once Upon a Crime” (1992), “Father of the Bride” (1991), “Baby Boom” (1987) and “Private Benjamin” (1980).

She has also produced most of the movies she has written and directed.

The 67th Annual Golden Globes take place on 17th January 2010 and are the first major awards to be handed out in what will be another busy awards season. Because I had been slipping with the blog for the last few weeks I still had not posted this years nominations.

Closer to the ceremony I will post my predictions on who I think will walk away with the Golden Globe on the night.

Movie Character’s I Have Related Too . . .

You know what its like, theres a moment in a movie when you totally feel for the character because you can see some of yourself in them and just know you would react the way in which they do. So I decided to make a little list using icons to help explain it all.

I will start with Bridget Jones . . . picking the wrong guy and doing really stupid things, yep that sounds about right, haha. And yes I have drunk a bottle of wine to myself on a few ocassions, like a virgin is my karoke song . . .

Iris from “The Holiday” played by Kate Winslet. Had such an awful time with a certain guy, she even gets a holiday exchange to get away from him, haha. But yes I could so feel her pain at times knew exactly hows she was feeling.

Charlotte in Lost in Translation . . . I just really have hit a crossroads in my life over the past couple of years and not sure at all what I am supposed to do.

Well I guess when looking at the icons those are the only three that I could find. So this will be part one, haha.

100 Sexiest Actors – 3

In 3rd place is a fantastic actor (who in my view is underrated for his acting) . . . Leonardo DiCaprio.

MTV Movie Awards 2009 – Best Female Performance – Kristen Stewart

Yep very predictable . . . another for Twilight.

Especially in a strong cateogry . . . I mean come on Kate won her Oscar for “The Reader”. But never mind eh ?

Kate and Johnny Header?

Shall I keep the pictures of Kate and Johnny as the header on my blog?

News: Titanic Stars Hand Over Cash To Ship’s Last Survivor

Awwwww I think thats really nice 🙂

Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio have proved their generosity is of Titanic proportions – after donating $30,000 (£20,000) to help the last remaining survivor from the doomed ship.

The pair, who starred as tragic lovers in the 1997 blockbuster, along with the movie’s director James Cameron, handed over the cash to ensure 98-year-old Millvina Dean can pay her nursing home fees, reports Access Hollywood.

Dean was the ship’s youngest passenger at nine months old when the Titanic hit an iceberg and sank en-route to New York in 1912. She is the ship’s only living survivor.

Photographer Don Mullan made an appeal to help raise money for Dean in the Sunday edition of the Irish Independent newspaper, and also reached out to Winslet, DiCaprio and Cameron in a bid to raise awareness.

Mullan has already set up an exhibition to raise funds.

He explains to the publication, “I figured that if the edition sold out, it would secure Millvina for a full year. My plan, however, was to double the impact and thereby secure her for two years.

“I decided, therefore, at the opening of the exhibition, to publicly challenge James Cameron, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kate Winslet, 20th Century Fox and Celine to match me dollar for dollar.”

According to reports, Mullan is still waiting to be contacted by Celine Dion, who won an Oscar for the movie’s theme song My Heart Will Go On.

Twilight Leads MTV Movie Awards Nominations

Very interesting nominations, but good that younger stars and not normally award movies get to be nominated.

Vampire blockbuster Twilight and Oscar-winning Slumdog Millionaire will lead the charge at the 2009 MTV Movie Awards after scooping seven and six nominations, respectively.

The bloodsucking love story, based on the book by Stephenie Meyer, will compete for prizes including Best Movie, Best Female Performance for Kristen Stewart, and Breakthrough Performance Male for both Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner.

Slumdog Millionaire stars Freida Pinto and Dev Patel are also up for the Breakthrough Performance accolades, while the film will go up against Twilight, The Dark Knight, Iron Man and High School Musical 3: Senior Year in the Best Movie category.

Meanwhile, Anne Hathaway (Bride Wars), Angelina Jolie (Wanted) and Kate Winslet (The Reader) join Stewart in the Best Female Performance line-up, and Zac Efron (High School Musical 3), Shia Labeouf (Eagle Eye) and Robert Downey, Jr. (Tropic Thunder) will fight it out for the Best Male Performance title.

Miley Cyrus (Hannah Montana: The Movie) and Vanessa Hudgens (High School Musical 3) will go head-to-head for the Breakthrough Performance Female award, while Cyrus is also nominated for Best Song From a Movie for Hannah Montana.

Real-life Slumdog Millionaire lovebirds Patel and Pinto have also earned recognition in the Best Kiss category, alongside Twilight’s Pattinson and Stewart, James Franco and Sean Penn for Milk, and Paul Rudd and Thomas Lennon in I Love You, Man.

The Dark Knight’s Christian Bale and the late Heath Ledger will battle it out for Best Fight alongside Seth Rogen, James Franco and Danny McBride for their scrap in Pineapple Express.

The Golden Popcorn prizes, nominated and voted for by MTV viewers, will be handed out in Los Angeles on 31 May.
