Something very positive from 2018 was how many fantastic roles in film we had for women, this list was extremely difficult to put together this year as I certainly had a lot to choose from! That can obviously only be a very good thing in my opinion.

Here is the full list of the Oscar winners for 2018! Not a massive amount of surprises especially on the acting front, but I am so happy with The Shape of Water taking Best Picture!

Over the years I have found that the supporting actress category always seems to be the weakest, however I do not think that is the case this year. I feel as though it could have been more open this year but Janney has been leading the whole pack. But when you look closer at the different roles it really could have gone to any of the nominees for such strong performances in very good films.
Let’s have one last look at the actresses who have been nominated in a supporting role . . .

Again this year nine films have been nominated for the top award of Best Picture, always creating good talking points around film as people can often never understand why some were nominated and then go onto win. I think this year is actually pretty strong and a decent range, but I will get more into each individual film.
Let’s have one last look at each of the films that have been nominated . . .
Christine “Lady Bird” MacPherson is a high school senior in Sacramento, California. We see her coming of age during 2002/2003 and the different events which happen during her final year of High School. Including her difficult relationship with her mother, friendship, love and sex.

I think this year could well be a struggle to watch all of the films in time for the Oscar ceremony, here we have the films nomiated this year!
