Last night saw the European Premiere for Wicked Little Letters take place in London and it is a film that I cannot wait to see! Luckily Cineworld have a preview screening for Unlimited customers on Monday night.

LEGO: Harry Potter Characters

Brand new releases from Lego so with being in London I queued to get in the Lego shop and decided to buy a few. I had started by trying to see if I could work out who Dumbledore was . . . But after a few minutes I decided to just go full on pot luck and picked four different packets.

London Trip (4-7th Oct 16)

img_0354_zpsgh0s0nsd

As you probably noticed I went to London for a nice 3 day break last week, mainly because I had tickets for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child something which I had booked nearly a full year before the actual date. I just so happened to book this on the same day that the BFI London Film Festival was going to be on, great timing! My original plan was to stay for 3 nights and get in as many films (and theatre) as possible. But due to cost I changed my mind on this as the hotel was pretty expensive.

London Premiere – Star Wars: The Force Awakens

On Wednesday I just so happened to have a trip down to London planned to see A Christmas Carol. This had been planned since the end of September and I had no idea that it was going to be on the same day as the European Premiere of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. I have never been the biggest Star Wars fan (although that has started to change). But I was still very excited about it going on in Leicester Square at the same time I was going to be down. Luckily I was tweeting about it on the train heading into London and someone told me wristbands were being handed out inside the Odeon until 12pm. That was rather good timing as my train got in about 11am.

BFI London Film Festival 2015

Pretty good timing to have a trip down to London and that it wasn’t intentionally for the BFI London Film Festival. Yes I know it totally should have been, but that was not the case. Any way a couple of weeks ago I had a little look at the films that were going to be on while I was in the capital, I must have totally missed that The Lady in the Van had Gala screenings.

But I am going to see a show tonight so not going to get to attend the full on Gala event, being able to see the red carpet they were setting up as I passed earlier. All is not lost though as I have got a ticket to go and see the film at 11:30am tomorrow morning. Fitting it in before heading to see Nicole Kidman in Photograph 51.

The Final Potter Premiere

Yesterday evening saw the final Harry Potter premiere take place in Trafalgar Square, with what was possibly the biggest red carpet ever linking to Leicester Square. The premiere was broadcast live around the world, and yes I did find myself watching for a few hours. It was a very emotional experience for everyone involved, even watching it all unfold. The cast members were clearly overwhelmed by the amount of fans who were stretched around the stages and red carpet. Such unbelievable scenes in London. All of the cast members spent plenty of time signing autographs and posing for photographs.

Watching live we had interviews and words from all of the different cast members. To finish with we had the three biggest stars of the films, Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint. Joined by J.K. Rowling herself and the films producers. This lead to emotional speeches taking place and causing each other to get emotional and the tears began to flow. The realisation that this was the last time they would ever have a world premiere for a Potter film and they would never experience anything like that ever again.

This time next week I would have seen the film already for myself as attending a 00:05 showing on Friday 15th July. What I am seeing as a brilliant start to my birthday weekend. Although if my worst crying moment in the books is put into the film in more of a visual way I may indeed leave the cinema in pieces. I am looking forward to the film, but at the same time I really do not want it to be over at all.
