BFI London Film Festival 2021 – Press Accreditation
That’s right for the second year running I have been given press accreditation for the BFI London Film Festival.

With some still being online and others across the U.K. I am hoping that I can manage to get a decent schedule together and even get down to London for a few films, just need to try and plan out to see what I can get put together.
One Night in Miami (2020) Review
One Night in Miami is a fictional account of what happened on the incredible night that Muhammad Ali became the Heavyweight Boxing Champion of the World and we see him gather with friend Malcolm X, Sam Cooke and Jim Brown to discuss their roles in the civil rights movement in the 1960s.

The full programme for the 2020 London Film Festival has now been announced. I will be looking to do more in-depth posts over the next few weeks in the build up to the festival surrounding the films that are listed.

That’s right I have been approved as press for the 2020 BFI London Film Festival which is super exciting and something I have wanted to try and do for a few years now. Obviously this years is going to be a little bit different with majority moving online, which works out very well for me being in the North East.

This is truly fantastic news that Ammonite will be closing the London Film Festival. The first railer for the film was only released yesterday so this is great to know. Kate Winslet and Saoirse Ronan in a film together is certainly going to be very special to watch!

The BFI London Film Festival in partnership with American Express is delighted to announce that this year’s closing film will be the biopic Ammonite, directed by Francis Lee, starring Kate Winslet and Saoirse Ronan and produced by See-Saw Films. The film will receive its UK premiere on Saturday 17 October and will be available to UK audiences at cinemas across UK, who will also enjoy a virtual introduction from Lee and key cast.

2016 was another good year for films released at the cinema and I think the standard was pretty good, I managed to miss a lot of the films that seemed to be regarded as the worst of the year which is always a big bonus!
This time last year (and the year before) I was celebrating a record-breaking total. You know what I have only gone and done it again setting a new record this year, beating last year by a whole 12 films! Which I think is pretty impressive although I seem to be treating it very much like a game now in trying to beat the previous year. Even monthly trying to outdo the year before. I was so close to 80 and I think that will therefore be my target in 2017. Good job I have an Unlimited Card at Cineworld to be able to do this!
2016 – 78 Films
Previous years at the cinema . . .
2015 – 66 Films
2014 – 62 Films
2013 – 59 Films
2012 – 40 Films
2011 – 60 Films
2010 – 33 Films
2009 – 34 Films
2008 – 49 Films
2007 – 39 Films
2006 – 21 Films
London Trip (4-7th Oct 16)

As you probably noticed I went to London for a nice 3 day break last week, mainly because I had tickets for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child something which I had booked nearly a full year before the actual date. I just so happened to book this on the same day that the BFI London Film Festival was going to be on, great timing! My original plan was to stay for 3 nights and get in as many films (and theatre) as possible. But due to cost I changed my mind on this as the hotel was pretty expensive.
A United Kingdom (2016) Review

The dramatic and true interracial love story, between Seretse Khama and Ruth Williams which divided two nations when their actions had the potential to tear everything apart. The British government actually having the biggest impact as they look to stabilise relationships with South Africa.
