Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. – London UK

Here is a very first for Let’s Go To The Movies, a blog post about a restaurant. But have no fear this is very very VERY movie related so do not worry about that. I made my first visit to a Bubba Gump Shrimp Co Restaurant on Friday while in London, this is currently the only one in the UK as well.

Stage Door – Patricia Clarkson

Before the whole craziness of Bradley Cooper coming out the stage, Patricia Clarkson was extremely quick coming out and took time to sign plenty of autographs. Possibly one of those actresses who you recognise, probably because she has had a lot of supporting roles in many different types of films. She was lovely too and posed for some photos as well as a selfie after saying she looked awful! She was brilliant in The Elephant Man.

Stage Door – Bradley Cooper

So my recent trip down to London I went to see The Elephant Man – Review here. I had to try and see Bradley Cooper at the stage door, so prior to the show I checked out where about’s it was so I could head quickly round at the end. This was successful and very good. As you will see soon though it did not all go to plan at all . . .

Star for a Day Competition

This blog post is my enter into the Star for a Day competition – read more about it here!

My pick of character will come as no surprise. Elphaba from Wicked!

Itinerary

Day time activity – Go to meet the Wizard so head to Harry Potter Studios

Pre-show activity – Munchkins Restaurant (38 Great Russell St, London WC1B 3PP)

Show – Wicked

Post-show activity – The Green Man Pub (57 Berwick Street, Soho, London, W1F 8SR)

Explanation

Elphaba is a truly inspiring character who never gives up on her dreams. The biggest being to meet the Wizard, so she is bound to find at least one Wizard at the Harry Potter Studios, and I am sure she can learn an extra spell or two as well. Then for some food what better place to head than the Munchkins Restaurant, they are a very big part of Oz after all, in a place that has a big Wizard of Oz theme she would feel right at home. Then to she herself defy gravity and fly at the show of Wicked and then what better way to finish off the day than a drink in The Green Man Pub, after all she wouldn’t be the only green person anymore and might feel a little better about herself!

Spooks: The Greater Good (2015) Review

A big screen outing for a very popular TV series in the UK, which has been running since 2002. I will admit that I have never watched it, but Netflix UK having it all on I may change my mind after seeing the film. So this review comes from a stand alone view of just the film with no influence from the TV series.

Fangirl Moments – Angela Lansbury and Imelda Staunton!

Even though I am now 27 years old I still cannot help it and still become a fangirl every now and then. After seeing these pictures this morning or maybe late last night and see Gypsy on stage yesterday I just had to create this brand new feature. So if I see a photo of some of my favourite actors/actresses together then you may well just see another addition to Fangirl Moments!

But seriously though Dame Angela Lansbury the last person to play Momma Rose in the West End (4o years ago) with current West End Momma Rose Imelda Staunton ❤ It’s just brilliant!

2014 at the Theatre

In 2014 I managed to go and see 15 musicals and plays on stage in both the North East (Sunderland Empire or Theatre Newcastle) as well as trips to London to see them in the West End. I also caught Monty Python and a concert of Elaine Paige. It has been an incredible year for going to see plenty of shows and live acting. I honestly didn’t realise I had seen so many until getting ready to do this blog post.

Along with seeing an absolute icon in Elaine Paige in her farewell concert, I also managed a last-minute trip to see the legend of Angela Lansbury on her return to the West End after 30 years in Blithe Spirit. But it doesn’t stop there, I got to meet one of my favourite actors Bill Nighy after the incredible Skylight and an added bonus of Carey Mulligan! What a day that was.

Sherlock (TV Series) – Seasons 1-3

A modern-day update as Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson take on cases in 21st Century London. I am a little bit behind on catching up with Sherlock considering the first season was originally broadcast in 2010. But thanks to Netflix UK I watched season one and two very quickly as a was taken in by this incredible drama.
