POP! Figure – Gandalf and Gwaihir

Getting an email about this new POP figure is something that really excited me! As you should be well aware by now I am a massive Lord of the Rings fan and Gandalf is one of the greatest characters of all time. I really feel this needs to be my first big special POP figure!

You are probably already aware that I am a huge fan of Sir Ian McKellen and the legendary actor turns 80 years old today! With no signs of slowing down having been in the West End last year, still starring in films and currently on an epic UK tour to celebrate turning 80! I will be heading to see it in August when he comes to Newcastle!

Blogathon: The Film That Started It All – Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring

This blog post is part of The Film That Started It All Blogathon on Let’s Go To The Movies. Getting people to really have a look at a film that they believe started a true love, passion and obsession towards films. I wanted to make sure we focus on the good and get away from the negative comments mainly on Twitter, love film!

When I was thinking about this Blogathon something I actually had a similar draft saved from a couple of years ago, only one film was in my mind. That being Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring. I guess I could have combined the whole trilogy but I am going to only focus on that first part and the start of a truly epic journey for cinema watching and then the extended edition released on DVD and now I own on Blu-Ray as well, hoping for 4K UHD one day!

It appears I was a night early seeing Killer Joe, I could have got two Lord of the Rings elves in one go as Liv Tyler went to watch Orlando Bloom on stage last night! I am pretty sure that would have pushed me even more over the edge with excitement.

Amazon: Lord of the Rings Series!

That is right it has been confirmed that Amazon have bought the rights to Lord of the Rings to create a truly epic TV Series, they want to attempt to rival Game of Thrones and the success that has had in a similar type of set up.

The deal is said to be close to $250 million just to secure the global TV rights, so if they are willing to spend that much just on the rights just imagine what they are going to do with it!

New Film Posters from Warner Bros.

I have recently seen this posters/covers around on DVDs and then they have started popping up on Amazon Video as well. They are very impressive and I keep searching for more of them, they seem to be Warner Bros films and they are just great!

With a nice quote from the film on them as well, which seems to be the most popular quote. I think these are really cool and will keep searching for more!
