16 Years of Let’s Go To The Movies!

That’s right today marks the anniversary of Let’s Go To The Movies or blogaversary as it would have once been known. On the 9th February 2009 I made my first post and let’s face it I probably didn’t think that 16 years later I would still be reviewing the films that I have watched at the cinema, now on streaming and catching up with classics of years gone by. But somehow Let’s Go To The Movies is still going and in the past few months I hit that incredible 2 million views and eventually managed to purchase the .com domain I had been after for a long time.

Thank you once again to everyone for the incredible support, as it stands I have 2289 film reviews on Let’s Go To The Movies. Plenty more to come!

Musical Moments: Maggie Smith and Carol Burnett

It’s been a while since I had a Monday Musical Moments post but I came across a small clip of Maggie Smith on the Carol Burnett show from 1975 a couple of days ago but have since found the full clip of Maggie teaching Carol how to sing with different English accents and it is quite frankly wonderful!

RIP Dame Maggie Smith

Rest in peace to a true British treasure and incredible actress Dame Maggie Smith, who has sadly passed away at the age of 89. First brought to my attention as a kid in Sister Act and then I have just loved the many different projects she has been in over the years. She will be most well known for her roles in Harry Potter and Downton Abbey. I also love to remember her small role in First Wives Club as it never fails to make me smile. A double Oscar winner for her performances in The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie in a leading role and in California Suite in a supporting role.

Thoughts go out to her family ❤️
