The King’s Speech has been very well talked about in the build up to its release due to Colin Firth already picking up awards left right and center. Anything about the Royal Family with high-profile actors always seem to do well with audiences.
The nominations are really coming out thick and fast for the up and coming awards seasons from the start of 2011. The Screen Actors Guild Awards nominations were announced yesterday! The King’s Speech is yet again leading the nominations! With The Fighter also widely nominated. First time True Grit has been nominated for a couple of awards too. A few different nominations to which we have seen in the other award noms so far!

The first part of the final Harry Potter film has been much talked about since, well since the book was out? Or since the last film, or maybe even both of those. I have to start by saying that I have never been the biggest fan of the Potter films, and I haven’t actually seen the last installment (Half Blood Prince). But anyway after seeing the trailer for this film I thought it looked a hell of a lot darker than the previous films. The continuing adventure, or as this film will be often referred to as the beginning of the end . . .

I have to admit that I was so sick of seeing the trailer for this movie, that I just thought I had to go and see it to see if it was actually any good at all. I did not really enjoy it, while it had amusing moments I just did not like the format it was in. Especially after the last animated movie I saw was “Up” this was quite an extreme to go and see really. Now with all the of the technology available this just felt old before its time and like watching something from 20+ years ago.
