Blogathon: Against the Crowd 2016

fotorcreated_zpsthripxin

I took part in this Blogathon back in 2014 for some reason or another which I am totally unsure of I didn’t take part in 2015. I must apologise for that as I totally love this Blogathon as it shows that everyone is different and don’t love and hate the same things, one of the best things about watching lots and lots of films!

Massive thanks to Wendell @Dell on Movies and KG @KG’s Movie Rants for putting together this fantastic Blogathon!

The rules are simple…
1. Pick one movie that “everyone” loves (the more iconic, the better). That movie must have a score of at least 75% on rottentomatoes.com. Tell us why you hate it.

2. Pick one movie that “everyone” hates (the more notorious, the better). That movie must have a score of less than 35% on rottentomatoes.com. Tell us why you love it.

3. Include the tomato meter scores of both movies.

4. Use one of the banners in this post, or feel free to create your own.

5. Comment on this post, or on KG’s Movie Rants with the two movies you intend on writing on.

6. Publish your post on any day from Monday August 22 through Friday August 26, 2016.

BFI London Film Festival 2016

lff-2015-title-artwork-750x680_zpsz2pifx2v

I am super excited to announce that I am going to be attending parts of the 2016 London Film Festival. It is taking place from 5-16th October 2016. I will be in London from the 5th to the 8th October. Although the 5th will be taken up by Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Part I and II.

That night will also see the start of the festival with the Premiere of A United Kingdom staring Rosamund Pike and David Oyelowo, so hopefully I will get tickets to see that one on a different day (depending how scheduling works). It sounds like it is going to be a good emotional film to watch.

A Timely Blogathon

a-timely-blogathon-1_zpsb5yo5deq

As movie bloggers, we all need to find the time and energy to juggle both tasks of watching a movie and then writing our review of it online.

They can be very time consuming activities, so Anna (of Film Grimoire) and Rob (MovieRob) have thought of a temporary solution.

It’s a very timely theme and this Blogathon will be all about Time-saving movies, 90 minutes or less.

You can pick any movie (or movies) that your heart desires as long as it’s official run time is less than 90 minutes.

Posteritty – Film Quote Posters

I came across the incredible Posterity at some point on Twitter before Christmas, as someone had retweeted them for the very cool film calendar they were releasing. I then got it as a Christmas present (after sending the link on) and after that bought some of the posters. I have eventually got round to putting them up on my wall and thought it was well  worthy of it’s own blog post and to encourage my fellow film fans to check out the website for the fantastic minimalistic images and some with quotes.

I have therefore picked some of my favourite quotes from my favourite films. I am sure you won’t be surprised with my choices!
