RIP Angela Lansbury

Absolutely devastated to just come out of the cinema to the news that one of my all time favourites Angela Lansbury has passed away at the age of 96.

A true legend across stage, screen and cinema being part of so many incredible stage shows, tv shows and films. Mrs ‘Arris Goes to Paris being a made for TV film that I hold so close to my heart. Being able to see her live on stage in Blithe Spirit was a true honour (as well as arriving at the theatre). Not forgetting the legend Jessica Fletcher in Murder She Wrote.

Rest in Peace to a truly incredible actress ❤️💔

Let’s Go To The Movies – 50 Favourite Films!

This is something I have been putting together for quite a long time now and I have held off posting it or even attempting to start the blog post in fear that I have forgotten and somehow missed a favourite film from the list. Barring in mind I got up to 72 films and then had to cut it down to the 50. I would like to make clear these are my favourite films, some might have happened to win Oscars as well and some certainly have not at all. The way I have decided on my favourites is the sheer joy they bring and the number of rewatches I have had over the years. While I have listed 1-50 a lot of them can be shifted around and changed with each other. It is going to highlight my love for musicals and for certain actors and actresses! I doubt it will contain many surprises though!

Happy 95th Birthday Angela Lansbury

7 Incredible Films in Paris

With the absolutely horrendous and tragic events that happened in Paris over the weekend I thought I would put some focus on 7 incredible films (some of them all time favourites of mine) which are set or have a very big link to Paris in the film. It is an incredible city which I was lucky to visit on a school trip but did not fully appreciate all of the culture and buildings at 15 years old, I am sure I would appreciate it all a lot more now. The key thing about Paris by the films I have picked seems to be romance.

Mrs. ‘Arris Goes to Paris (1992) Review

Ada Harris (Angela Lansbury), a London charwoman in the 1950’s, sees a Dior dress and decides that she’s going to own one. First, she scrimps and saves her money, but when she has enough, and takes a trip to Paris, she learns that buying an original couture creation is a little harder than simply plunking down cash. Along the way to her goal, she manages to befriend a count, unite young lovers, and dodge customs.
