I do always like that we get a more British feel to this one, and yes Paddington 2 and Hugh Grant has a lot of love! Which personally I am very happy about! I will do my predictions closer to the time and when we actually have all of the films out in the UK!
NEW HOST – Joanna Lumley will be hosting this year after Stephen Fry announced a few days ago that he was stepping down!
Here we got the winners of the 2018 Golden Globe Awards, looking forward to eventually seeing a lot of these films over the next couple of months!
I think 2017 has been a pretty impressive and good year for film, that meant that picking a top 10 was extremely hard and I have had to think a lot about what was going to make my final list. Originally I had 21 films to get down to 10 which was very tricky. I have therefore had to really think about which films I enjoyed the most this year, which made me feel good and that I would love to watch again and again.
Just missing out on the final list were the following films Colossal, Baby Driver, Dunkirk , Thor: Ragnarok, Breathe, Wonder and Get Out.
Check out the films I watched at the cinema during 2017 here.

This year I will attempting to Live Blog as well as be active on Twitter (@LetsGoToTheMov7) during the Oscars. Although this year I haven’t taken any time off work, as I fell asleep anyway last year.

So keep checking back on here and see how far I actually make it through the show! Comments and discussion welcomed!
This has probably been the most controversial acting category at the Oscars in recent years. Due to studios putting the actresses forward in the supporting role rather than the leading role. That does appear to be something that has happened again this year. Although we then also get a mix of performances with very limited screen time so I really do think that this is a category that needs to be sorted out!
Don’t forget to let me know who you would like to win! And who you think will win, as that might not be the same!
This year nine films have been given the honour of being nominated for Best Picture. I managed to catch most of them pretty early thanks to Cineworld having so many Unlimited preview screenings which certainly was a bonus! Not forgetting to mention that my number one film from 2016 is amongst the nominees as well!
It is time to have another look at each of the films that have been nominated and I will let you know what I want to win, what I think will win and what I think has an outside chance of taking home the Oscar!

NASA was a different place early on the space programme as they were attempting to get a rocket into space. This story shows how three African-American women played vital roles in making that happen, all possessing incredible mathematical skills.
