North East Theatre – April 2016

Considering I spend quite a lot of time at the Theatre (although not as much as I would like) I thought I would do a post each month highlighting the shows you can catch in the North East of England. I haven’t come across many blogs which feature shows in the North East and reviews of shows at either the Sunderland Empire or Theatre Royal in Newcastle come from the local papers/press.

Musical Moments – Oliver!

This just had to be a double of musical moments today, due to the death of Ron Moody RIP. I just had to honour him with two fantastic songs from Oliver!

I am going to look at all of the different shows I have seen on the stage and then also seen the film version.

Oliver! (2012 UK Tour) Review

I have certainly managed to fit in a quite a few shows this year, and already booked up for plenty next year. I caught Oliver! on one of the last performances in Newcastle at the Theatre Royal, on the Friday night after a long stay. After seeing the show I can really understand why it had a long run in Newcastle (and the other places on the tour) due to the incredible stage set up and props used for the different scenes. It was forever changing and it really added to a fantastic show containing many much-loved songs.
