Top 10: Bridget Jones Quotes

bridget-jones-quotes-4_zpsgg3shbky

With the up and coming release of Bridget Jones’s Baby I thought I would put together a list of my favourite quotes from the previous two films, Bridget Jones Diary and Bridget Jones: Edge of Reason. The first film I remember not enjoying when I first saw it but grew on me in time for Edge of Reason. Not forgetting starting my love for Colin Firth, oh Mark Darcy!

The thing with Bridget Jones  is that it takes a pretty normal woman and that means everyone will be able to relate with some of the stupid things she says and/or does. It is very British at times as well, which just makes it even better. I read the two books many years ago, they really are written in such a fantastic way!

Posteritty – Film Quote Posters

I came across the incredible Posterity at some point on Twitter before Christmas, as someone had retweeted them for the very cool film calendar they were releasing. I then got it as a Christmas present (after sending the link on) and after that bought some of the posters. I have eventually got round to putting them up on my wall and thought it was well  worthy of it’s own blog post and to encourage my fellow film fans to check out the website for the fantastic minimalistic images and some with quotes.

I have therefore picked some of my favourite quotes from my favourite films. I am sure you won’t be surprised with my choices!

“You’ll have bad times, but it’ll always wake you up to the good stuff you weren’t paying attention to.”

I think that is a very true thing, you are going to have bad times and quite often they all seem to come at once with no sign of anything good. I think something that can be done is to simply look back at the photos you have taken on your mobile phone, that has to have something that will make you smile (although could make you even more sad for a few moments) but it should help you that yes things are bad, but they have been good as well. I felt like well nearly all of 2015 was a bad time particularly from September to December as everything went wrong, one thing after another. No light was at the end of the tunnel and I have decided to try and change my attitude for 2016 to not caring as much about the little annoying things that don’t really mean anything, so I am hoping that is going to be possible. With a few different tasks to really keep me from going absolutely crazy I guess!

“Me? I’m Scared of everything. I’m scared of what I saw. I’m scared of what I did, of who I am and most of all I’m scared of walking out of this room and never feeling the rest of my whole life the way I feel when I’m with you.”

I have decided to start a new type of blog post on here, using a film quote that comes close to how I am feeling I am going to vent my thoughts and probably stress (and massive overthinking) in an attempt to get rid of it all to be honest. I am not going to set how often these blogs will be but I guess that just depends what exactly is going on in my life. Although I don’t really have a massive amount of a life at the moment, so much work and no time for much else. That is one of the reasons I love going to the cinema, that is my switch off and relaxing time (well maybe not always relaxing if I pick an awful film). This will be extremely film related though so don’t worry!

Having had a very tough few months and the past week with not a massive amount of sleep, I think it does play with your mind and makes it more difficult to see things rationally. That who paranoid state seems to creep in and you doubt well pretty much anything and everything. I think the above exchange between Portman and Kutcher is a great way to start, what a feeling right?

10 Movie Quotes, What they mean and why they’re important!

I have just come across this article: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/649651/10_movie_quotes_what_they_mean_and.html?cat=40

and found it very interesting.

I would class myself as one of those who know the movies they are attached to, and can quote quite a lot from different movies, haha. Yes I am that sad!

I think the 10 quotes which the author of that article choose to include were very good choices and could often be used in everyday life . . . yes you are now thinking frankly my dear I dont give a damn . . . yes that was a bad attempt at including a quote in there haha. But that quote actually does occur quite a lot in general conversation with myself and my family just because it is so well known, we all love “Gone with the Wind” as well.

The Time of Your Life

In 1963 family holidays at a resort were totally a thing and you never know you could end up with a summer romance!

Movie Picture of the Day 13

Today’s picture is from one of my favorite parts from “As Good As It Gets”. When Melvin (Jack Nicholson) is introducing Simon (Greg Kinnear) and Carol (Helen Hunt).

Carol, the waitress. Simon the fag.

Comedy genius !!!

Movie Quote of the Day 18

I have not posted a movie quote for a rather long time now . . . so thought I should get back in the habit of posting them 🙂

Today’s is from “A Star is Born” with Judy Garland. This quote probably will not make any sense if you have not seen the movie

“Hello, everybody. This is Mrs. Norman Maine.”

Movie Quote of the Day 12

Missed posting a quote yesterday. So here is today’s, from “The Bucket List”.

“You measure yourself by the people who measure themselves by you.”

Movie Quote of the Day 7

Today’s quote is from “The Wrestler”. Hopefully next week Mickey Rourke will have the Oscar in his hand 🙂

“In this life you can lose everything you love, everything that loves you. A lot of people told me that I’d never wrestle again. The only one that’s gonna tell me when I’m through doing my thing is, you people here.”
