Another year is coming to an end which means another Best Film list must be put together. I am sure I will have plenty of choices of films that people won’t agree with, but this is my list so I can pick what I thought was the best out of the films I have watched in 2016.

Ned Fleming has always been extremely close with his daughter Stephanie but all that has changed since she moved away for college and has a billionaire boyfriend Laird Mayhew who she hadn’t even mentioned and now they are all spending Christmas together.

A spacecraft which is travelling to a distant new colony planet has 5000 passengers as well as hundreds of crew. It takes 120 years to get there and everyone is due to wake up a few weeks before. But when Jim Preston wakes up with 90 years to go something has gone very wrong . . .

The rebel alliance must make some risky moves against the empire to try and stop them. Including stealing the plans for the Death Star which has just been revealed, setting up the epic saga that then follows.

It’s been a pretty big year for the live musicals being shown in America and they eventually somehow manage to make their way to the UK. Grease Live appeared on Netflix but Hairspray Live was actually broadcast on ITV4 so a perfect opportunity to record and then be able to catch up with. In the UK we have had our own when they did a production of The Sound of Music last year. Something does feel quite strange about them when they are done kinda half like a film and half like an actual stage show. It must be a very strange experience to be part of.

Lenny Belardo, the youngest and first American Pope in the history of the Church, who just so happens to smoke! He must try and come to terms with the running of the church and if he really can make a difference while also deciding to remain out of the public eye with no one actually knowing who he is. Bringing in people he has always been close to helping him in the struggle, does he even believe in God?

Jack Skellington is King of Halloween town and each year they ensure that the next is more horrible and terrifying than the last. Everything is about to change though when he stumbles across Christmas town and decides that he wants to take over Christmas from Santa!
