I have seen some fantastic films during 2018 and had a list of 22 films to dwindle down to make my top 10 best films list! Which was certainly a good thing but also some tough decisions. The dramatic and true interracial love story, between Seretse Khama and Ruth Williams which divided two nations when their actions had the potential to tear everything apart. The British government actually having the biggest impact as they look to stabilise relationships with South Africa.

As the BFI London Film Festival starts tonight I thought it would be a good idea to put a post together to preview some of the films that will be making an appearance at the festival and the different Gala/UK Premiere’s happening over the next 11 days. It really is a fantastic event that takes over the many cinemas in Leicester Square with plenty of star acting power in attendance.
I am super excited to announce that I am going to be attending parts of the 2016 London Film Festival. It is taking place from 5-16th October 2016. I will be in London from the 5th to the 8th October. Although the 5th will be taken up by Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Part I and II.
That night will also see the start of the festival with the Premiere of A United Kingdom staring Rosamund Pike and David Oyelowo, so hopefully I will get tickets to see that one on a different day (depending how scheduling works). It sounds like it is going to be a good emotional film to watch.
James Bond is sent to investigate in North Korea which does not begin well for him as he is captured and kept as a prisoner . . . After he casually surfed into the country. Yes. Really.
This is where it gets a little disappointing as I have only seen three out of the five nominated performances for this category. I don’t even remember hearing about ‘Two Days, One Night’ when that was released back in the summer in the UK. We are waiting for ‘Still Alice’ to be released which comes out in March sometime. So I will only be able to offer my thoughts on the other three nominees and look forward to seeing ‘Still Alice’ when it is released as well as trying to catch ‘Two Days, One Night’. Although you will probably know that only one actress is getting talked about when it comes to this category!
