Ben Kalman (Michael Douglas) is aging: he has heart problems, his marriage is over, he’s lost a fortune after being caught cutting corners in his East Coast car business, and he’s sleeping with as many women as possible – the younger the better.
When Prince Fabious’s bride is kidnapped, he goes on a quest to rescue her… accompanied by his lazy useless brother Thadeous. But this is no normal medieval film, it has a very funny take on those type of films. In fact it makes fun of them and itself in such a good way.
Well let’s just say that I pretty much hate Valentine’s Day! So decided to do an anti-Valentine’s day list of films, because lets face it real life isn’t all flowers and chocolates! People get hurt and hearts are broken, so I don’t understand why we should have one day that is supposed to be when we declare our love for someone?!?! If we truly loved them wouldn’t we just randomly buy them gifts and tell them of our love whenever we felt like it?
Anyway check out the following 10 films which have made my list . . . not for the people wanting to see love in a nice way with the happily ever after ending!!!

A man Garrett and a woman Erin attempt a long distance relationship whilst one lives in New York and the other in California/San Fransisco, after meeting when she was an intern at a New York newspaper. Obviously you could see where the relationship was going after she stated that she was only there for 6 more weeks.
Mae West has often been described as one of the more controversial movie stars of her day, West encountered many problems including censorship. This brings me to the main point in this blog post about an incredible actress and performer who was so obviously well before her time, in terms of the roles she was playing. Her characters did not play second best to men, and some of the lines she was given are still fantastic quotes to this day. She really was just incredible. When you put everything into context based on the way life was back in the day when West was delivering these controversial lines it really must have been quite shocking at the time! A lot of these lines would still be brilliant if thought up today.
Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte returned to the big screen for a second outing this weekend.
That opening sentence just shows that I did indeed start this review the day after the film was released. It really was something I had been looking forward to since the first movie finished!
A couple Jane (Meryl Streep) and Jake (Alec Baldwin) who have been divorced for years, end up having an affair with each other behind Jake’s young wifes back, who he cheated on Jane with . . . yes it’s complicated.

Her newest movie “It’s Complicated” starring Meryl Streep, Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin is due for release tomorrow in the UK, therefore I decided to make a blog celebrating what Nancy has done so far in the movies . . . mainly for women as that is the target audience of her movies. Making movies that other people probably wouldn’t with older actors in love stories (Somethings Gotta Give) and breaking the typical Hollywood mould, which I think is just brilliant. She is definitely one of Hollywood’s most powerful women.
She’s directed “It’s Complicated” (2009), “The Holiday” (2006), “Something’s Gotta Give” (2003), “What Women Want” (2000) and “The Parent Trap” (1998).

While I was writing my review for Nine (and even watching it) I was trying not to compare it to Chicago. Mainly because I love Chicago and it is one of my favorite films ever, so to compare another musical directed by Rob Marshall on one viewing would not be very fair. So I have decided to take a deeper look into both movies and not really say which one is better, but to show comparisons.
Film director Guido Contini (Daniel Day-Lewis) struggles to keep his professional and private life separate as he must keep the women in his life all happy and well apart, whilst trying to make a new film which is proving to be extremely difficult.
