Let’s Go To The Movies – 50 Favourite Films!

This is something I have been putting together for quite a long time now and I have held off posting it or even attempting to start the blog post in fear that I have forgotten and somehow missed a favourite film from the list. Barring in mind I got up to 72 films and then had to cut it down to the 50. I would like to make clear these are my favourite films, some might have happened to win Oscars as well and some certainly have not at all. The way I have decided on my favourites is the sheer joy they bring and the number of rewatches I have had over the years. While I have listed 1-50 a lot of them can be shifted around and changed with each other. It is going to highlight my love for musicals and for certain actors and actresses! I doubt it will contain many surprises though!

Noelle Kringle has always been filled with joy and the Christmas Spirit, I mean you would hope so as her father is Santa Claus! When he passes away she must help her brother Nick fulfil his role of becoming Santa, but everything is not that simple at all.

Musical Moments – There’s Gotta Be Something Better Than This (Sweet Charity)

As we are now in Lockdown 2.0 in the UK I felt as though only one song would be appropriate for today’s musical moments. Surely “There’s Gotta Be Something Better Than This”?

Taken from musical film Sweet Charity with Chita Rivera, Paula Kelly and Shirley MacLaine . . .

The Apartment

I feel as though this film is very underrated and has such impressive performances from Shirley MacLaine and Jack Lemmon. The characters feel real and I just love this scene/moment!

7 Worst Film Mothers

As it is Mother’s Day (in the UK at least) I decided that I would then pick my 7 worst film mothers. You certainly would not want any of these to be your mother as they certainly did not help their children have, but some of them might just redeem themselves in the end?

Kate – Home Alone

Leaving your son behind when heading on holiday is a pretty awful thing to do. Kevin had an amazing time being home all alone after his whole family jetted off for Christmas without him. We will give it to Kate that she had a feeling something was wrong, but not checking you have all your children was a very bad move. I guess airports have changed a lot since the early 90s and they wouldn’t get that far to this day. We will give her points for doing everything she can to then get back to Kevin as soon as possible.
