Yesterday was the first day that I posted on this blog (read here) and I felt as though I had to do something else more film related for the occasion of somehow keeping it all going for 15 years, so I thought I would pick my favourite film from each year, which possibly won’t link up with other posts of best films for each year.

You may (or may not) remember that earlier this year I was put in 7th place in Vuelio’s list of Top 10 UK Film Blogs. Was is an incredible achievement considering the size of the other blogs I was listed with! Plus moving up from 10th place from the previous year.
I thought I would put together a new list this year for what I saw in 2016 (here) with the standout female performances of the year, this is going to combine the whole leading and supporting roles. Just what I have been really impressed with!

I thought I would put together a new list this year for what I saw in 2016 (here) with the standout male performances of the year, this is going to combine the whole leading and supporting roles. Just what I have been really impressed with!

2016 was another good year for films released at the cinema and I think the standard was pretty good, I managed to miss a lot of the films that seemed to be regarded as the worst of the year which is always a big bonus!
This time last year (and the year before) I was celebrating a record-breaking total. You know what I have only gone and done it again setting a new record this year, beating last year by a whole 12 films! Which I think is pretty impressive although I seem to be treating it very much like a game now in trying to beat the previous year. Even monthly trying to outdo the year before. I was so close to 80 and I think that will therefore be my target in 2017. Good job I have an Unlimited Card at Cineworld to be able to do this!

Another year is coming to an end which means another Best Film list must be put together. I am sure I will have plenty of choices of films that people won’t agree with, but this is my list so I can pick what I thought was the best out of the films I have watched in 2016.

This is usually a category which has a very clear run away winner I don’t actually think it is the same this year. Different actors seem to have been picking up the supporting award making it a little bit more interesting than previous years. I think I am pretty happy with all of the nominees as thought they all put in good performances.
The main problem for this category in my opinion is that two of the nominees (Mara and Vikander) weren’t actually in a supporting role and were actually leading roles. I am pretty sure a lot of people will agree on that especially if you have seen the performances.
I have managed to see 7 out of the 8 films nominated for Best Picture, which is pretty disappointing considering I bought Mad Max a few weeks ago and struggled to get into it and haven’t had a chance to properly watch it! Honestly I will get round to it eventually. So here are my thoughts on each of the films that have been nominated for the big one!
