Stage Door – Lesley Joseph

When it was announced that Lesley Joseph would be returning to Annie as Miss Hannigan at different venues and Sunderland was one of those I just had to go! I have always loved Birds of a Feather (UK TV Series) and its great its been back on recently.

She was absolutely lovely (as expected) and I got a great photo, told her I came to see her the last time she was in the Annie tour to which she responded with that was 17 years ago! I honestly didn’t realise it was that long ago which meant I was only 11 years old!

Such a thrill to meet her and she was fantastic in the show (review to follow).

2015 at the Theatre

In 2015 I managed to catch a record breaking 20 musicals and plays on stage in both the North East (Sunderland Empire or Theatre Newcastle) as well as trips to London to see them in the West End. You can read through the normal list 2015 Theatre. This number was certainly boosted by the Wicked UK Tour visiting Sunderland which I just had to go and see more than once, three times to be exact. This was also down to getting some fantastic deals with ATG Theatre Card, as for less popular touring shows at the Sunderland Empire I do get some discounts. This is nice and means you can buy last minute tickets for some shows, obviously depending on how popular they are.

The show I mentioned in my 2014 at the Theatre you know just the small one starring Imelda Staunton . . . Gypsy I went to see twice in London! Let’s say goodbye to 2015 . . .

Stage Door – Adeel Akhtar

As I was watching A Christmas Carol I really thought I recognise that actor, it was doing my head in to what he was out of (I’d lost my programme and hadn’t even given it a look at all before hand). So it wasn’t until after that I found out he was actually Smee in that awful Pan film that was out this year! Maybe it was best that I didn’t remember which film I had remembered him from recently in that case haha.

He was really good signing autographs and taking photos at the stage door though!

Stage Door – Jim Broadbent

I had a bit of a nightmare on Wednesday that when I went to watch A Christmas Carol I left the programme I bought in the toilets! So I did not have it to get signed at the stage door. So I had to get my ticket signed instead.

To make it all more disappointing Jim Broadbent said no photos, which I was really surprised about as had seen quite a few on twitter with fans at the stage door. Must have caught him on an off day?

Stage Door – Kevin Spacey

I am very pleased to say that I have eventually managed to find a copy of my photograph with Kevin Spacey! I have been trying to find it on many external hard drives and memory sticks. Believe it or not my mam who still goes to get photos printed off actually had it hidden away in one of the little albums she has! Although now I have found it, I actually think it is a truly awful picture of myself! Spacey looks cool though!!!

This was from 2nd December 2006!

Stage Door – Imelda Staunton

Considering I did not go to the stage door after my previous trip to London to see Imelda in Gypsy. I made sure to make the effort this time I mean come on this is the best performance I have ever seen by anyone on stage like ever. Honestly that is how good Imelda is, and to make it even better she is absolutely incredible at the stage door!

London Weekend – 3rd-6th July 2015

I had been looking forward to this trip down to London for months and months now. I managed to get a ticket for AC/DC at Wembley Stadium so decided it was best to head down on the Friday and make a full weekend out of it. Plus then managing to fit in a show as well, that turned out to be Broadway transfer The Elephant Man, starring Bradley Cooper.

Friday

Also to do a little bit of shopping, not my favourite pastime but I did manage to get a couple of pretty cool things. One of the first I could not resist as it links so well into my re-obsession with An Affair to Remember.

I guess that started the trip off having a nice little film feel to it, and a lot of what happened after this links very nicely to the movies as well. Hence why I am writing this blog post, have felt very inspired to write many posts recently and hoping that I can keep it up.

Stage Door – Patricia Clarkson

Before the whole craziness of Bradley Cooper coming out the stage, Patricia Clarkson was extremely quick coming out and took time to sign plenty of autographs. Possibly one of those actresses who you recognise, probably because she has had a lot of supporting roles in many different types of films. She was lovely too and posed for some photos as well as a selfie after saying she looked awful! She was brilliant in The Elephant Man.

Stage Door – Bradley Cooper

So my recent trip down to London I went to see The Elephant Man – Review here. I had to try and see Bradley Cooper at the stage door, so prior to the show I checked out where about’s it was so I could head quickly round at the end. This was successful and very good. As you will see soon though it did not all go to plan at all . . .

Stage Door – Bill Nighy

Skylight made a double whammy for the stage door and this one is extremely exciting because lets face it who does not love Bill Nighy and think he is just awesome? He is such a cool man and was brilliant signing autographs and posing for photos! Here’s mine :-). Brilliant especially when I have been such a fan of Bill’s for years now. Really topped off seeing an incredible performance in an amazing show!
