The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011) Trailer

I actually watched a trailer last week for this film and thought it was a fan made one, turns out it was the red band trailer as well. This green band trailer is not much different, just some nudity and more violent scenes cut out.

In all honesty though I am really not too fused on this trailer at all, I think the music is too much and so many different clips are shown. I’ve read the book so have more of an idea what is going on, but what about the audience who haven’t read the book or heard about them. (Which I would have thought would be a lot) – The trailer doesn’t really tell them anything about the film. I’m assuming another trailer will be released as well, building on this one? Well I hope so!

GwDT: Rooney Mara is Lisbeth Salander

After a few weeks of speculation and having nearly ever actress in Hollywood linked to the role of Lisbeth Salander for the Hollywood 2011 version of the millennium trilogy. It has been announced that relatively unknown actress Rooney Mara will be taking on the massive task of bringing Salander to the big screen in the English/American version of the franchise. Most recently Mara was in the remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street and Youth in Revolt. I am finding it quite positive that she is quite an unknown quantity as it should make it easier to bring Salander to life.

Mara joins Daniel Craig, Stellan Skarsgard and Robin Wright Penn who have been cast in the film thus far. I am still looking forward to see who will be in the more minor yet important roles in the film.

GwDT: Stellan Skarsgard is Martin Vanger

The latest on “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” is that Stellan Skarsgard is in talks and/or been cast as Martin Vanger in the film due to be released in 2011. I have great interest in this film trilogy as onto reading “The Girl Who Played with Fire” and have the Swedish version of Girl with the Dragon Tattoo ready to watch. I think Skarsgard would be a brilliant choice for the role of Martin Vanger, he’s a very good actor and actually Swedish!

I just hope the casting news continues to flow in each week, as I am really curious who will be cast in the different roles especially Lisabeth Sandler and Erika Berger. Just a little warning that I will be having constant updates about this trilogy on the blog in a massive build up to the films release . . . and they haven’t even got the whole cast sorted out yet!
