LFCC – John Barrowman

I have been a huge fan of John Barrowman for years now due to his musical theatre background. Luckily for me that because he has been in Doctor Who, therefore is at so many different cons! He is fabulous, had to use that word! Hugs everyone and is a top guest! I was lucky to see his Fabulous show a few months back now.

Happy 93rd Birthday Mel Brooks

The comedy legend that is Mel Brooks turns an incredible 93 years old today. Did I ever mention that I was in the same theatre as him in Newcastle when Young Frankenstein the Musical made its UK Premiere? AND he came on stage? (The Day I Saw Mel Brooks)

Since seeing the film on its cinema rerelease I can’t stop thinking about this truly hilarious moment! Got to love Zero Mostel and Gene Wilder together in this Mel Brooks classic!

Musical Moments – The Producers

What better musical moment to have this Monday than Springtime for Hitler from The Producers, after seeing the film on the big screen yesterday at the cinema I just had to share this one for today. An absolute classic from Mel Brooks!

Top 10 – Theatre Shows in 2015

A brand new top 10 for 2015!

I thought considering how many shows I manage to see at the Theatre it would be a perfect idea to pick a top 10 from everything I have seen. This includes shows I went to see on my many trips to London as well as the touring shows we get in the North East, mainly at the Sunderland Empire and Theatre Royal in Newcastle. It really is fantastic the shows we get now direct from West End runs, I am looking forward to what the future will bring with these tours.

You can check which shows I went to see in 2015 here as well as reading my review of the whole year!

2015 at the Theatre

In 2015 I managed to catch a record breaking 20 musicals and plays on stage in both the North East (Sunderland Empire or Theatre Newcastle) as well as trips to London to see them in the West End. You can read through the normal list 2015 Theatre. This number was certainly boosted by the Wicked UK Tour visiting Sunderland which I just had to go and see more than once, three times to be exact. This was also down to getting some fantastic deals with ATG Theatre Card, as for less popular touring shows at the Sunderland Empire I do get some discounts. This is nice and means you can buy last minute tickets for some shows, obviously depending on how popular they are.

The show I mentioned in my 2014 at the Theatre you know just the small one starring Imelda Staunton . . . Gypsy I went to see twice in London! Let’s say goodbye to 2015 . . .
