2023 Letterboxd Stats!

This has become one of my favourite things to look at that the end of the year, actually who am I kidding it’s something I actually monitor throughout the year as well. I love stats for anything and everything because let’s face it you cannot argue against that type of information.

My film viewing in 2023 was lower than normal and that was mainly due to some personal struggles and battles, I think with that though I managed to watch mainly ok and good films, obviously the odd bad one will sneak in but I feel as though I made better choices.

This year we have a new themes cateogry thrown in as well! I did try to keep rewatches a lower and focus on first time viewings and I manged 67.5%.

What are your stats for 2023?

Which film did you watch the most, and who were your top stars?

Let’s Go To The Movies – 50 Favourite Films!

This is something I have been putting together for quite a long time now and I have held off posting it or even attempting to start the blog post in fear that I have forgotten and somehow missed a favourite film from the list. Barring in mind I got up to 72 films and then had to cut it down to the 50. I would like to make clear these are my favourite films, some might have happened to win Oscars as well and some certainly have not at all. The way I have decided on my favourites is the sheer joy they bring and the number of rewatches I have had over the years. While I have listed 1-50 a lot of them can be shifted around and changed with each other. It is going to highlight my love for musicals and for certain actors and actresses! I doubt it will contain many surprises though!

7 Amazing Things in Thor: Ragnarok!

Since Thor: Ragnarok has been on Sky Cinema the past few weeks I have found myself watching it over and over again. I am actually very annoyed with myself for not including it in my top 10 films of 2017. I have no idea at all why I didn’t put it on the list as it really is a truly fantastic Marvel film!

I have actually lost count how many times I have watched it since it appeared on Sky Cinema. I will eventually buy it on 4K Blu-ray I promise!

Top 10 – Best Films of 2017

I think 2017 has been a pretty impressive and good year for film, that meant that picking a top 10 was extremely hard and I have had to think a lot about what was going to make my final list. Originally I had 21 films to get down to 10 which was very tricky. I have therefore had to really think about which films I enjoyed the most this year, which made me feel good and that I would love to watch again and again.

Just missing out on the final list were the following films Colossal, Baby Driver, Dunkirk , Thor: Ragnarok, Breathe, Wonder and Get Out.

Check out the films I watched at the cinema during 2017 here.

October 2017 at the Cinema

As we are approaching the last few months of 2017 I honestly don’t think the standard of films is improving too much in all honesty, I am sure you will see exactly why when looking at the seven films that I went to see during October.

The number of films I went to see was 7 and this then cost £2.55 per film as the Unlimited Card at Cineworld is £17.90 per month.

4th – Goodbye Christopher Robin – Review

11th – The Mountain Between Us – Review

12th – The Death of Stalin – Review (Unlimited Screening)

17th – The Snowman – Review

20th – Geostorm – Review

25th – Thor: Ragnarok – Review

29th – Breathe – Review

Thor: Ragnarok (2017) Review

thor_ragnarok_ver2_zpstymr3l08

Everything is about to fall apart for Thor when Asgard is threatened with Ragnarok. The reappearance of Loki and the revelation of Hela the Goddess of Death who just happens to be their sister, nothing is going to be straight forward. Especially when Thor is captured and must fight the current champion Hulk!

Trailer – Thor: Ragnarok Teaser

Got to love a teaser trailer, although this one has quite a few things in it which I was rather impressed with. I think it looks a pretty good addition to the Thor part of the Marvel universe in all honesty. Plus Cate Blanchett as the bad guy should be great too!
