Wormtail/Peter Pettigrew
Probably a very obvious and popular choice for this one! We aren’t supposed to like him at all, after what he done to Harry’s parents and Sirius Black. But he has to be my least favorite character in the whole series. Not one good thing can be said about him at all. Don’t forget that he was Ron’s pet rat Scabbers for a while as well, which just makes him even worse.
The Harry Potter film series has done wonders for the British film industry over the years and also been able to showcase so many talents in the films as well. We certainly do see the best of British in the series. Some with big parts throughout all (or most) of the films. While others have smaller parts, or even just cameos. But they really have been such a credit for showcasing the talent which is on offer in Britain. A lot of the actors and actress are held in high regard in the theatre world. Some of my favorite actors and actress have appeared in the film series which is so refreshing to see so many of them in the same films.
A lot of well-respected actors appear in the films bringing life to the much-loved characters from the books.
Alan Rickman – Severus Snape

A very well-loved actor who always seems to be the bad guy. But is he always the bad guy in the Potter series? Well that’s the difficult thing to figure out. One minute you love Snape and the next you hate him, you love to hate him and I don’t think anyone but Rickman could have you thinking that about a character.

The King’s Speech has been very well talked about in the build up to its release due to Colin Firth already picking up awards left right and center. Anything about the Royal Family with high-profile actors always seem to do well with audiences.
The nominations are really coming out thick and fast for the up and coming awards seasons from the start of 2011. The Screen Actors Guild Awards nominations were announced yesterday! The King’s Speech is yet again leading the nominations! With The Fighter also widely nominated. First time True Grit has been nominated for a couple of awards too. The first part of the final Harry Potter film has been much talked about since, well since the book was out? Or since the last film, or maybe even both of those. I have to start by saying that I have never been the biggest fan of the Potter films, and I haven’t actually seen the last installment (Half Blood Prince). But anyway after seeing the trailer for this film I thought it looked a hell of a lot darker than the previous films. The continuing adventure, or as this film will be often referred to as the beginning of the end . . .

Alice is now 19 years old and returns to Wonderland but has no memory of the place or anyone, will it all come back to her in the end? Will she fulfill her destiny and end the Red Queen’s reign of terror. She reunites with all of the characters from her childhood adventure which she believed was a dream. Could the Mad Hatter convince her that it was not a dream and in fact real?
Third part of the countdown of my top 50 films of the decade . . .
The long list of possible nominee’s for this year’s BAFTA awards has been released today. I was not going to blog about this, but as I got further down the long list and to the actor in a leading and supporting role, I was extremely happy to see both Michael Sheen and Timonthy Spall’s names down for their work in “The Damned United” which is a film I enjoyed a lot. So now we just have to hope that they both get into the last 5, who will then be up for the award. It is best of British so *fingers crossed*. Also the best adapted screenplay possibility for it too. 🙂
I am also pleased to see Gran Torino on the list too, as it missed the cut off point for last year, if I remember rightly someone didn’t send a copy of the film in time for it to be viewed? Clint Eastwood could indeed be up against himself as Invictus is in the best picture and director list. Interesting . . . I suppose it is rather silly talking about that now.
Have to wait until 21st January to find out the actual nominations.

Brian Clough was one of the best English managers on record, the best manager England never had. This film is based on a book which tracked his turbulent 44 days when he was Leeds United manager after joining from bitter rivals Derby County.
