I have watched a few movies recently and thought that the actor in it has a fantastic career ahead of them so decided to make a top 10 list of those actors. With a few reasons why I think they will keep progressing and go on to do great things (potentially), from the movies I have seen them in. I decided to define the young actor, as an actor under the age of 30.
News: Twilight Stars Gets Musical
I just love hearing things about the Twilight cast 🙂
Twilight star Peter Facinelli loves working on the vampire franchise – because the musical cast regularly get together for sing-a-long sessions.
The 35-year-old, who plays Robert Pattinson’s dad in the original film and in upcoming sequel New Moon, is a big fan of his onscreen son’s musical talents and admits the British star often picks up his guitar and plays for the other actors.
Facinelli tells the New York Daily News, “I love to hear Rob sing. He’s got an insanely good voice. Sometimes we all get together and he gets on the guitar and starts playing and singing. He writes his own material.”
And Pattinson, who recorded two songs for the Twilight soundtrack, isn’t the only one who has been keeping the cast entertained – his co-star Kristen Stewart has been learning music for her upcoming role as rocker Joan Jett.
Facinelli adds, “Kristen has taken up the guitar for the movie she’s doing. Everyone’s been carrying a guitar around.”
MTV Movie Awards 2009 – Pictures
Last night was the MTV Movie Awards, so here’s some pictures from the night.

MTV Movie Awards 2009 – Best Movie – Twilight
Again no suprise at all here. All of the Twilight fans must have been out in force on the voting front over the past few weeks. Dont get me wrong while I have been posting these as I love Twilight. I loved the book more than the movie, but it was still good. I just think when you compare to the other nominations, such as “The Dark Knight” and even “Iron Man”. I bet HSM3 was second to Twilight.
But anyway I do enjoy these awards as it gives other movies and actors a chance to realise that they were found entertaining. When the Oscar noms and winners may not have brought in as many people to watch the movies.
I will definatly be posting some pictures tomorrow . . .
MTV Movie Awards 2009 – Best Female Performance – Kristen Stewart
Yep very predictable . . . another for Twilight.
Especially in a strong cateogry . . . I mean come on Kate won her Oscar for “The Reader”. But never mind eh ?
MTV Movie Awards 2009 – Best Kiss – Twilight
Yep another award for Twilight. This time to both Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. I bet it was quite a close one to call with Zac and Vanessa being nominated for HSM3.
I thought the kiss between James and Angelina for Wanted was very hot !!! But what about Sean Penn and James Franco, in “Milk” that was brilliant !!!
MTV Movie Awards 2009 – Best Fight – Twilight
I am going to predict that this is the start of the Twilight sweep of awards.
Looking at the other nominations, I would have gone for the fight between Batman and the Joker in “The Dark Knight”. Dont get me wrong I love Twilight and a bit of Edward Cullen aka Robert Pattinson but BATMAN !!!
News: New Moon Script Found In The Trash
I bet someone will not be very happy about this !!!
A humble beauty salon owner will mingle with stars at the New Moon premiere – after she discovered the film’s script in a trash can and handed it in to studio bosses.
Casey Ray from St. Louis, Missouri found the discarded screenplay, along with another script for a venture entitled Memoirs in a bin while waiting for her boyfriend to finish work.
And rather than leak the film’s plot to fans of the Twilight series, Ray has been praised by the film’s studio Summit Entertainment for her honesty after she came forward with the scripts.
A representative for the studio says, “We thank Ms. Ray for doing the right thing.”
And bosses are so thankful for the return of the script, they have invited Ray to both films’ premieres.
Ray’s lawyer states that although she considered holding on to the New Moon screenplay as a collector’s item, “she didn’t really want to get paid” for the script.
It is not known how the scripts ended up in the bin, although actress Anna Kendrick, who stars in the vampire franchise, was recently filming in a hotel near where the items were found.
However, Kendrick’s rep insists the star wouldn’t leave her scripts in a public trash can.
Twilight Leads MTV Movie Awards Nominations
Very interesting nominations, but good that younger stars and not normally award movies get to be nominated.
Vampire blockbuster Twilight and Oscar-winning Slumdog Millionaire will lead the charge at the 2009 MTV Movie Awards after scooping seven and six nominations, respectively.
The bloodsucking love story, based on the book by Stephenie Meyer, will compete for prizes including Best Movie, Best Female Performance for Kristen Stewart, and Breakthrough Performance Male for both Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner.
Slumdog Millionaire stars Freida Pinto and Dev Patel are also up for the Breakthrough Performance accolades, while the film will go up against Twilight, The Dark Knight, Iron Man and High School Musical 3: Senior Year in the Best Movie category.
Meanwhile, Anne Hathaway (Bride Wars), Angelina Jolie (Wanted) and Kate Winslet (The Reader) join Stewart in the Best Female Performance line-up, and Zac Efron (High School Musical 3), Shia Labeouf (Eagle Eye) and Robert Downey, Jr. (Tropic Thunder) will fight it out for the Best Male Performance title.
Miley Cyrus (Hannah Montana: The Movie) and Vanessa Hudgens (High School Musical 3) will go head-to-head for the Breakthrough Performance Female award, while Cyrus is also nominated for Best Song From a Movie for Hannah Montana.
Real-life Slumdog Millionaire lovebirds Patel and Pinto have also earned recognition in the Best Kiss category, alongside Twilight’s Pattinson and Stewart, James Franco and Sean Penn for Milk, and Paul Rudd and Thomas Lennon in I Love You, Man.
The Dark Knight’s Christian Bale and the late Heath Ledger will battle it out for Best Fight alongside Seth Rogen, James Franco and Danny McBride for their scrap in Pineapple Express.
The Golden Popcorn prizes, nominated and voted for by MTV viewers, will be handed out in Los Angeles on 31 May.
News: Pattinson’s Rock Star Dreams
I bet he is so glad that he stuck with the acting now !!!
Robert Pattinson nearly gave up on his acting ambitions before landing the lead as a vampire in Twilight – because he couldn’t snag the roles he dreamed of playing.
Pattinson first shot to fame playing wizard Cedric Diggory in 2005’s Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire – but he began to plot a career as a musician when he failed to secure any more inspiring movie work.
And it wasn’t until he landed the part of an awkward musician in filmmaker Oliver Irving‘s independent movie How To Be that his love for acting was reignited.
Irving tells People.com, “He was thinking about giving up acting and maybe doing music solely when this role (in How To Be) came along. He wanted to play the roles he wasn’t getting… He was looking for something more challenging.”
And the director made sure to push Pattinson during filming, asking him to play the guitar and harmonica while disguising his good looks with a strange haircut and ill-fitting clothing.
Irving adds: “I said, ‘You’re banned from cutting your hair between now and the shoot.’ We had to give him the most awkward haircut we possibly could, and we cut his trouser length a little bit too high. Things like that played down his apparent good looks.”
And Irving insists Pattinson rose to the challenge, often showing off musical skills too advanced for his character: “He downplayed how good he was. A lot of the time he would turn out to have a really good (instrument) technique and we told him he needed to play it more simply.”
