The Next Big Film launches UK’s first box office prediction game

New start-up The Next Big Film is bringing the UK’s first box office prediction game to market. The Leeds company has created an innovative app-based game that allows you to ‘own’ your favourite film releases to compete with fellow film lovers by predicting which movie you think will perform best at the box office. The game is an opportunity to put your (virtual) money where your mouth is and will test your movie knowledge.

Meerkat Movies has launched its annual cinema report, revealing the habits of UK cinema goers from the past year, whilst highlighting key opinions from the cinema-going British public, with key findings including;

Everyone ends up with family friends who become more like a family and second family. Mine live in Houston, Texas (originally from the UK). This is Steve who I have always referred to as Uncle Steve! Last week he had a quadruple heart bypass, now in the US things are very different in terms of employment and healthcare to the UK. Steve is self-employed and now won’t be able to work for a couple of months.
I would really appreciate if anyone could help out for this truly special man, who is the nicest you could ever meet!
If you can donate anything a Go Fund Me page has been set up by one of his daughters: gf.me/u/nyvjw6

Sad news broke yesterday that streaming service FilmStruck would be closing at the end of November. On the 29th November 2018 to be exact, I am rather shocked about this news as a few days ago I received an email informing me of which films were going to be added to the UK version for November.
The service has always offered high quality and well-regarded films from the Criterion Collection and TCM. All of which are not easily available in the UK, it is such a huge blow for classic film screening. As much as I love the services offered by Netflix and Amazon Prime Video, FilmStruck offered something a little different. You don’t have to spend as much time searching for a film that will be outstanding on FilmStruck, Netflix and Amazon while finding a hidden gem, I have also watched some awful films on them.

Richard Gere will be starring in MotherFatherSon on BBC2. Yes, really the Hollywood star taking on his first ever major TV role and it is going to be in the UK on BBC2 currently filming now and expected to make it onto our screens in early 2019.

Let’s face it Friends is my all time favourite TV show, I have easily seen each episode about 500 hundred times. Ok maybe not that many, but I am sure it isn’t actually far off that total!
I have always been really jealous of #FriendsFest as it has never come up to Newcastle before, so when seeing the news yesterday that in July it will be here, I had to sign up for the pre-sale 24 hours before general sale. I have therefore bought two tickets and booked the set tour!
Something to totally look forward to in July! Not long after my birthday either so I am going to call this my celebration. Come on I started the year with a blog post about being happy because Friends was added to Netflix in the UK!
Could I BE anymore excited?
