Yesterday BAFTA released the longlist of films that are going forward to round 2 of voting for this years awards! I have to admit a couple of surprises I reckon but always really interesting that they release this information.
BEST FILM
15 films go through to the Round Two of voting, and five will be nominated. This is the only category voted for by all film voting members in all voting rounds. 244 films were submitted for consideration.
OUTSTANDING BRITISH FILM
20 films will go through to Round Two of voting. The top five films from the opt-in chapter vote in Round One automatically receive a nomination. The next ranking 15 films will be considered by a jury, who will vote for five nominations. 10 films will be nominated in this category. In Round Three, the general voting membership will select the winner in this category. 74 films were submitted for consideration, all of which passed the BFI Diversity Standards.
Here at the nominations for this years Golden Globes! Usually a decent indication on which films could be nominated for the Academy Awards!

OUTSTANDING BRITISH FILM
Something very positive from 2018 was how many fantastic roles in film we had for women, this list was extremely difficult to put together this year as I certainly had a lot to choose from! That can obviously only be a very good thing in my opinion.
Here are the 25 performances that made it onto my list . . .

In Chicago four women end up working together to try to rebuild their lives after being left in debt because of their dead husbands criminal activities, they have nothing in common and pretty much cannot stand each other. But needs must to survive.
