Wolverine: The Musical

When fandom’s collide!

Just came across this absolutely brilliant video with Hugh Jackman using a Les Mis song with some very different lyrics, with a nice little plug for the up and coming X-Men: Days of Future Past!

Jackman Pretended He Was Wolverine In The Gym

Nice bit of method acting, haha.

Hugh Jackman bulked up to play muscle-bound mutant Wolverine in the new X-men movie, by getting into character in the gym.

The actor’s buff new physique has helped the film, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, shoot to the top of the U.S. box office and reinforce his reputation as the Sexiest Man in the World.

But Jackman insists it didn’t come easily, and he had to pretend he really was the clawed superhero to push himself during workouts.

The Aussie star tells Starpulse.com, “Ok, this is a little embarrassing but I’m a little more of a wuss in real life, obviously, than my character.

“There’s a moment when you’re training where you just want to give up. I used to kind of imagine myself, not when I was training with these guys because that’d be a little embarrassing, but when I was on my own with my trainer Michael, I used to kind of imagine I was Wolverine. Somehow, it always got two or three more reps out of me. It was also kind of humiliating with the yelling and it looked a little silly.”

Jackman Plots Wolverine’s Return

I can really see this happening, with the current movie being such a big hit !!!

Hugh Jackman is to get his claws into Wolverine once again – the actor is set to revive his X-men character for a fifth time with another prequel.

The Australian star is currently top of the U.S. box office with his latest comic book outing as the superhero mutant in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

And movie bosses have given the go ahead for a follow-up to the movie after it scored massive takings of $87 million (£58.5 million) in its opening weekend.

Jackman shot to fame when he landed the iconic role in the original trilogy of X-Men films and is not ready to hang up his claws just yet, according to Variety.com.

The new movie will reportedly be set in Japan and follow a samurai storyline originated in the comic book series.

Jackman Slashed Kitsch’s Hand With Wolverine Claw

I can imagine those claws would have been difficult to control!!!

Actor Hugh Jackman left his X-men Origins: Wolverine co-star Taylor Kitsch with a bloody hand during filming – after accidentally slashing him with his metallic claws.

Jackman shares an intense fight scene with Kitsch’s character Gambit in the comic book movie – and the Australian star admits he got a little too aggressive during one take.

He says, “We were having this fight scene and he has his staff and he goes to hit me and I stop him with my claws, and he pulls back really quickly.

“I’m looking at him because they (the directors) haven’t called cut, and I’m looking at my claws and there’s only two claws coming out, and I’m thinking, ‘Where’s the third claw?’ I look up and it’s sticking out of his hand. Straight into his hand and he’s like, ‘Whoa dude, something I said?'”

But Kitsch brushed off the injury and pressed ahead with shooting.

Jackman adds, “He pulls it (the claw) out, wipes the blood on his jeans and goes, ‘Let’s go’.”

Berry Hopes For X-men Return

I hope that Storm and other X-Men characters get there own Origins movie, like Wolverine would be sooooo cool.

Halle Berry hopes to follow in the footsteps of Hugh Jackman by reviving her X-men character for a prequel.

Jackman’s new movie X-Men Origins: Wolverine is set before the comic book trilogy and tells the life story of his superhero alter ego.

And Berry, who played weather-controlling mutant Storm in the first three films, would love to return to the franchise with her own X-Men Origins picture.

She says, “I think that would be great. Storm deserves her own movie – if I can still fit into the suit.”

Jackman Considered Quitting X-men

I bet he is glad he did not quit !!!

Australian actor Hugh Jackman contemplated walking away from the X-men franchise after the third movie – because he feared his character Wolverine had gone too “soft”.

Jackman reprises his role as the superhero in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, the fourth movie of the cult series.

But the film almost didn’t happen, because after Jackman had completed 2006’s X-Men: The Last Stand he considered stepping down from the role amid concerns over his character’s development.

He says, “One thing I never felt we got with Wolverine that I really wanted to get is that berserker rage which is talked about in the comic books.

“It felt like Wolverine had got a little soft by X-Men 3 and I wanted to take it back to that bad a** quality. He’s tough, he’s gruff, he’s not politically correct – he doesn’t say the right things.

“There has to be complexity to this character. He’s very tough but there’s a lot of pain, history to his life that you find out about. It’s not pretty. He’s a flawed character. That’s what I like about it, that’s why I’m doing it for the fourth time or else I wouldn’t.”
