2017 at the Theatre

This is my overview of 2017 at the Theatre which has been a very special year with plenty of trips to London and even a trip to New York and squeezing in some Broadway shows. All to go along with the trips to Newcastle’s Theatre Royal and the Sunderland Empire to catch the latest UK touring shows.

In 2016 I managed to see 31 shows. In 2017 I managed to see 36 shows! So just beating the 2016 total! You can see a list of all of these shows here. This also included trying to get plenty of deals and really using the day seats to help save money.

Garrick Theatre: Young Frankenstein

I couldn’t resist taking plenty of photos of the theatre in all its green glory and posters with great production shots of the cast. This first one from across the road took many attempts with buses spoiling the shot! This was the best that I could manage really and it isn’t fantastic but it was the best I could do!

Stage Door: Young Frankenstein Cast (London)

As you are well aware I totally love Young Frankenstein the Musical and the incredible cast that go with the show! I therefore could not resist when seeing the show for the 4th time and 1st time in London to go to the stage door after the show.

Signed Programme

The Garrick Theatre is very small and therefore the stage door is right next to the entrance/exit of the theatre and not hidden around the side or back like most other theatres.

September 2017 at the Cinema

This month I managed to see nine films and that was certainly a pretty impressive number to get to see! I think the films were pretty mixed in all honesty.

The number of films I went to see was 9 and this then cost £1.98 per film as the Unlimited Card at Cineworld is £17.90 per month.

7 Reasons You Should See Young Frankenstein the Musical

event_media-banner_lrg_zps0s17y0oe

I was lucky enough to get to see this incredible show three times when it held previews in Newcastle, I fell in love with the show and thought I would put together a list with some reasons why you just have to see it in the West End. It opens at the Garrick Theatre tonight for previews.

I don’t really remember a musical really pushing itself on TV shows like this one has to help raise awareness and publicise the show. Something that I think it just wonderful, more shows should do this like they do with films and having the actors talk about it. I would love to see more shows follow this lead to really get Theatre out more on prime chat shows!

Young Frankenstein the Musical Trailer

You probably noticed that I have been very obsessed with Young Frankenstein the Musical and I am about to show you just why you need to see it! As they have released the trailer ahead of the shows West End debut on Thursday.

Review from Newcastle

Stage Door: Lesley Joseph

Lesley Joseph always has been and always will be one of my favourites! I am lucky enough to have seen her in Annie a couple of times over the years. I was very excited when it was announced that she was in the cast for Young Frankenstein and she gets an incredibly amazing musical number with ‘He Vas My Boyfriend’ which she totally nails. It is hilarious and rather filthy at the same time, I guess that makes it even more brilliant.

She’s fantastic to talk to at the stage door and more than happy to pose for photos too, total legend!

Stage Door: Susan Stroman

I was lucky enough to meet the incredible Susan Stroman who is the director of Young Frankenstein and has won five Tony Awards over the years! Such an incredibly lovely woman who was very happy with my love for Young Frankenstein, after my third visit!

She has collaborated with Mel Brooks on many occasions over the years and that is well just brilliant. Making a huge success of The Producers when it was first transferred into a musical. I am really hoping that this revamp of Young Frankenstein is a huge hit when it opens in the West End later this month!

Stage Door – Young Frankenstein Cast

I know I haven’t stopped talking about the incredible Young Frankenstein Musical since seeing it for the first time last Saturday. I loved it so much that on the Sunday I bought another ticket and went to see it again last night, I waited at the stage door to see if I could catch the cast members as they came out. Last week (and rightly so) they had an after show party!
