Marilyn Monroe dress sells for £2.8m

Over the weekend the very famous white dress worn by Marilyn Monroe was auctioned and was bought for a very cool £2.8m ($4.6m). Possibly one of the most well known dresses in film history! The image of Monroe getting the gust of wind from the subway and blowing her dress up has to be one of the most well known as well.

An unreal amount of money considering it was bought for just $200 dollars and for it to make so much money, just shows how much of a pull Monroe still is in the Hollywood world. I don’t imagine this is something that will ever happen with dresses or any clothes from recent films.

  1. I wonder what happened to the clothes that Faye Dunaway wore in ‘Bonnie & Clyde’? They set a style trend for about a year after the film.
I cannot think of any clothes from films from the past few years….
