That is a surprise. I would have been happy with either billboards or water…. but with del Toro getting Director I thought it would have gone there.
I was totally thinking that after the director win, its all been very boring all the clear favourites winning. BAFTA used to mix it up and honour the Brits more.
I also hoped for The Shape of Water to win. Somehow, I never actually thought Billboards might win. I never thought voters there would “get” the film that much. It just did not feel that way.
So disappointing that it picked up pretty much everything.
I was always team Dunkirk, but I very much stand alone :\
I think because of how early that was released it’s been forgotten about.
That tends to happen…
I’ve never been more disconnected from the winners than this year. The same group will also win come Oscar time. Oldman is the only one I can get behind.
It’s just so boring isn’t it! Much better when it’s closer. I actually don’t get the over hype around Three Billboards I liked parts of the film but the story was very flawed and it’s qute shocking Rockwell is getting so much acclaim for a truly awful character.
Yes, I agree that The Shape Of Water was much better. Still hope it wins the Oscar.
