February 9th 2009 . . . That was the date I made my first ever blog post and as you can probably tell 10 years later it is still very much all about films! RIP Albert Finney

Just seen that this sad news broke a couple of hours ago now. I personally love him as Daddy Warbucks in Annie as well as Ed in Erin Brockovich! He was 82 years old and had starred in some very big films.

Oscars 2019 – Luncheon

91st Oscars®, Nominees Luncheon, Class Photo

Each year in the build up to the Oscar ceremony The Academy host a Luncheon for all of the nominees and previous winners as well I must add. This happened yesterday and something that it always creates is some great photos!

I also must mention that Richard E. Grant is already winning Oscar season with his fanboy nature at all of the awards events and taking many selfies with different actors! (Richard E. Grant’s Twitter feed).

Meerkat Movies: Annual Cinema Index

Meerkat Movies has launched its annual cinema report,  revealing the habits of UK cinema goers from the past year, whilst highlighting key opinions from the cinema-going British public, with key findings including;

  • UK cinemas saw the highest attendance levels for almost 50 years in 2018, with a 3.7% year-on-year increase
  • Musical adaptations are more popular than ever, with David Bowie’s story topping the list of icons we’d next like to see at the cinema
  • 75% of consumers polled say they feel James Bond should remain as a male lead
  • When movie fans were asked what films they would most like to see a sequel to, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of GrindelwaldDeadpool 2 and Avengers: Infinity War came in as the top three
