Bullet Train (2022) Review

When five assassins all end up on board a fast moving bullet train from Tokyo they begin to realise that capturing the case they have been tasked with might not actually be that easy after all.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We are given Ladybug as the character to follow to begin with and his journey to getting on the train while talking on the phone to his handler, and attempting to complete his mission of getting on board the bullet train, finding a particular case and then getting off at the next stop which sounds like a pretty straight forward and easy task. The train only stops for one full minute at each station, so the time for getting off is a very small window.

Ladybug believes he just has the worst luck and causes utter chaos by a total accident and we are about to witness that throughout the train journey, although some of that luck actually seems to work in his favour. As he locates the case we begin to find out about the other characters who just happen to be on the train and all seem to have the same idea about getting the case which belongs to White Death a very feared man who runs the Japanese underworld.

The twins, aka Tangerine and Lemon had been working for him directly and were the ones who originally brought the case onto the train along with the White Death’s son who is a total waste of space it seems. When leaving him alone in the seats for a few minutes when attempting to find the case after it has been taken from where Lemon left it they come back and he is dead! From this moment forward it was clear that everything was going to be absolutely crazy and that the action packed moments almost came as quickly as the train was moving.

The weaving of characters being added in and the ties that they have either the White Death or each other is something that take a little bit of working out, as they have crossed at different events and a bigger reason may just be behind them all ending up on that train.

I absolutely loved and enjoyed everything about this film and felt as though it had the perfect balance of comedy in with the action scenes, crazy fight moments and death. It really was such a perfect blend and worked so well, in what I can only describe as Tarantino like and in that similar mould which was perfect.

Brad Pitt was wonderful in the more leading of the roles and this confirms just why he should still be leading films as he is so fantastic. He is given some hilarious moments which you cannot help but laugh at, we are also rooting for him from start to finish as well. We have some fantastic cameos that are thrown in and so unexpected. Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Brian Tyree Henry work very well together and are very engaging. Then throw in Joey King in what can only be described as a truly sadistic character as she attempts to be a truly innocent young girl.

Oh and don’t forget about the Thomas the Tank characters references and links!
